In a straight white kithkin deck this has work very well for me..but thats it's limit sadly.

I love this card. In a Kithkin deck, it can be downright brutal.

Awww, no 'Borderguard Volunteer Counters'? Obviously it's most efficient and self-sustaining in a Kith deck, but with the 'any counter will do' clause, certainly it's worth using in one heavy in counter manipulation. The effect is kind of nifty and I rather like the notion of splashing all your counters off into tokens. Even if in the context of the game it makes less sense than -most- abilities.

-1/-1 counters from creatures such as Chainbreaker of Grim Polyp ALSO turn into tokens. You can also boost his ability with Cenn's Tactician, or any of the other hundred Kithkin 1/1 counter generators.

If you're playing a kithkin deck, it can win you the game. People won't attack you because they know that if they kill it, you'll get like a kazillion little weenies ready to kill them the next turn. On the down side, kithkin decks are pretty bad anyway, so you're still probably going to lose.

Perfect for a number of reasons. Number one, it combos with Cenn's Tactician, who works great in Kithkin decks. Two, it totally goes along with the idea of kithkin swarm, put out alot of kithkins that get pumped/whatever for every other kithkin. Finally, the real icing on the cake is that this card is a countermeasure to the only kind of card that can stop an early game aggro soldiers - destroy all creatures. HAHAHA! WRATH EFFECTS BE DAMNED! Having this kind of abillity on a white card makes me feel like I'm playing black zombies somehow. Case and point, Kithkins are one Butt-kickin' tribal synergy. I prefer them over human soldiers anyday - BEWARE THE ALMIGHTY THOUGHTWEFT!

I don't think I need to tell you how much fun this is, with a sun titan attacking each turn, with fanatical devotion .

Sac borderguard to regen sun titan, return border guard with titan to create an increasing amount of tokens, lather rinse repeat.

Has excellent synergy with Order of Whiteclay in Kithkin decks :D

Champion him with Thoughtweft Trio, when (if? Thoughtweft is pretty hard to kill) he comes back, he's liable to net you even more counters than he would have on turn three.

Yet another creature which goes excellently with Cathars' Crusade. Also, it makes me want to build a Kithkin deck. Go Sam, Merry and Pippin!

@SoulShatterer: Actually, although that used to be the case, +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 counters now cancel eachother out, rather than modify p/t separately. So you can't have, say, five +1/+1 and three -1/-1 counters on the same creature; it would reduce down to two +1/+1 counters.

However, if this guy had no other counters on him, and was killed with a single -1/-1 counter, you would get one Kithkin token.

Gift of Immortality interacts very well here.
