Expensive, but I like it in EDH. Hold some counters for the 23 wraths everyone else has...

Auras that provide protection to the enchanted permanent are MUCH less likely to give your opponent card advantage, since they will have to destroy the enchantment before they can destroy the permanent, rather than destroying both at once. Granted, shroud isn't the best for this, due to the vulnerability to non-targeted effects, but it means they'll have to use such an effect, and card advantage after a board wipe is usually unbalanced anyway, it might turn in your favor if you force them to use it as removal.

I would love to agree with you, Atali. But the fact is, it still isn't shrouded until it resolves. The aura still can get you 2 for 1'ed with instant speed removal as does most auras. It does block the sorcery speed stuff, so it does deserve some credit, but even then, many of the sorcery speed removal spells ran are the nontargeted ones (Gatekeeper of Malakir, Wrath of God, Pyroclasm, etc...)

Hate to be the "Dies to removal" guy, but that's kind of the point of this. To protect the creature. So far, Totem Armor seems to be the best way to do this with Auras and their blatant weakness.

Too expensive. Whispersilk Cloak often feels far too expensive, and that sticks around when the creature kicks the bucket. It only costs 1 more and is colorless.
The true disadvantage to an aura such as this one isn't even the card disadvantage from instant creature kill before it resolves. It's the virtual disadvantage that comes when you have no creatures to play it on, or when you're waiting for your opponent to tap out. Also, when four mana isn't increasing your damage output at all, you gotta wonder if this would even be good in draft or sealed. You'd need to clog up the board with big butts to even race slowly with it.
"Unblockable" is usually a trap when it comes to constructed anyway. People typically don't play creatures that they want to chump with. Either its bigger and will attack you back harder, or smaller and wouldn't block anyway...
Oh, one more thing. You attack with this, they kill the aura and block. Ouch.
The kind of creature you want to put this on is probably your Cephalid Constable or Raven Guild Master type of creature, I guess.

Slap it on Kiln Fiend and laugh. If it had flash, it would be amazing. As it stands now, it's pretty good.

Interesting card, any reason to choose this over whispersilk cloak though?

Supremely close to being strictly worse than whispersilk shroud.
