OMG!! A green with flying!?!?! Lolz. It acts like a shock on turn 1 for green

Between the haste and the flying and the 2/1 and the echo.... this makes no sense whatsoever in green...

Uktabi drake? ...as a shock? Thats stupid. Uktabi can be a round one killer with fastbond, crucible of worlds, zuran orb, and adventuring gear. Its a legal round one kill with no power9

This guy is just so freakin' cute, plus who on earth would expect these two abilities from a mono-green deck? The echo isn't too bad, compare to Skyknight Legionare.

@ Nocturno
I believe you don't need 4 mana but just 1 as you can continually sacrifice and play the same land, each time it comes into play tapping it for mana

IMO this is a well designed, balanced card. Nice to see a green creature with flying at 1. I also think the art is GOOD.

@ bushiyo I can't seem to get the math that would let you do all this in one turn. Even going second and having 8 cards to play with. Having 3 lands and those 5 cards, you will still only have 2 open mana to play with after playing fastbond. 'Play land, play Fastbond, play 2 more lands' then what? If you have 4 lands you can't have all those cards you mentioned. Now remove the Zuran Orb and it's possible, to get the Crcuible out but then you don't have a way to sac the lands.
@ Thorhauge
If you have the Crucible out already yes, but on turn one you would need it all to start with.

Why not play it on turn 2 with a Llanowar Elf?

Shouldn't he have been plane shifted or whatever its called, because none of those abilities seem green

A flyer for green, so rare that it deserves 5 stars for itself.

This is probably the most aggressive card ever created. This little kamikaze can demoralize your ooponent and cut their life total to shreds. When you combine this with Evolution Charm, your opponent has little chance of surviving.

At the least he's a 2 damage spell to your opponent's face ready turn one (well unless they have flyers but you're still likely to kill something that early in the game) and at most... well it's hard for green to get flying so it's alright.

I like to combo him with Elephant Guide. 4 for a 5/4 flyer with haste that I can get a 3/3 elephant token from as back-up.

@Thorhauge: To replay the same land you would need the Crucible in play, which will cost you three mana. That + the fastbond = 4 mana needed to start the combo off.

WOW. This is an amazing limited card. Even if you don't play it until turn 2 and use the echo as your turn's cost, it's above many curves, at least for its time.

Wouldn't the infinite life/infinite mana combo of Zuran + Crucible make much more sense from the perspective of banefire and such?
I mean.. saying this enables a first turn win without P9 isn't actually saying much.
You can do Chancellor of the Forge, Chancellor of the Forge (reveal) Double blazing shoal the chancellors Assault strobe
Bam. Same thing, except all of those cards are pennies on the dollar.
IMO save infinite mana/life combos for cards that are far less weak than this guy or i mean.. do something flashy like given an infinitely huge protean hydra haste.
absolutely love this little guy, i run 3 of in my Modern Vengevine deck.

With a perfect hand, you could get a turn 3 Primal Forcemage into 4 of these guys on turn 4, then swing for the win. But, like I said, you'd have to get a perfect hand.

I feel the echo cost for this card is disgusting. Usually I'm hot and cold with this card. I try to use it in a blitz gameplay but to spend a combined 4 mana by round 3 for a 2/1 flyer is actually slow progress. If justification is that you'll boost or enchant it, then why not pick something without that pesky echo cost? If justification is that you have a method to accelerated mana by round 2, then why not simply play a heavier hitter? (since this means you generated 4 mana by round 2). Then again, a green flyer is valuable; I'm just not a big fan of its echo cost. Compared with the kinds of quality we've seen dropped in rounds 2 and 3, I'd be happy to see this drake in round 3. Again, for ex: if I have Fastbond, and especially if my deck is catered to capitalize off of Fastbond, then the hell with the Drake because I should already be squeezing my opponent's neck with something bigger, and at the very least I should have already cast a few spells that's just about to allow me to slash my opponent's throat. With that kind of acceleration we nullify/override the need to specifically deal with fliers, the opponent goes on the defensive, and we dictate play, such as green tends to do with great bargain casting cost for abilities and effects, etc. It's not difficult to drop 5/5 or 6/6 in round 3 for green. To me, why play Fastbond just to play out all the land you may have drawn in your opening hand? Obviously you want to keep the land coming until the opponent is overwhelmed in accelerated progress. Even in the case of an excellent graveyard bring-back land recycle, we still have to get the land in the graveyard. Some like to gain 20 life by round 10 while others like to do 20 points of damage by round 5.

A green hasty flier? What's not to love? Great art, two damage turn one, and potential to stick around if you wait a while. Plus it's a green drake. You gotta love Planar Chaos.

The fact that it's a flier in green ups the value of this card.
