It kind of sounds like something you'd get if you ate too my chili peppers..."Dude, I had a total pyrohemia blowout last night."

Also, everyone loves red Pestilence! 4/5

question: if at the end of my turn the only thing on the field is a spark elemental, can I place this ability on the stack before sacking the elemental, preserving this for a turn?

Great with Spitemare, Stuffy Doll, or similar.

Gives your Phytohydra permanent shade-pump ability! Cool card; I always loved Pestilence and it's not much of a stretch to give it to red. Come to think of it, it's more incongruous in black. Well done Wizards.

Pyrohemia, meet runed halo.
Congratulations if you have been following my comments since purity, you just met all the key cards in my manabarbs deck.
If not, go checkout purity.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if used in conjunction with Norin the Wary and enough ways to keep him under his temporary exile, couldn't you use him for infinite Pyrohemia?

@Gwafa_Hazid it wouldn't work because you only play the spell once, afterward you are basically activating an ability over and over. Norin is afraid of attacking creatures and shiny spells, but once the spells start to do things, he cares less :p

Using this with War Elemental in multiplayer = fun!

This + War Elemental + Braid of Fire and a one shot burn like lightning bolt to get War Elemental above 1/1 before you start Pyro-ing everything.

Not exactly worth the effort in a burn deck, but I'd sideboard it for multiplayer. Also, how awesome would it be actually pull that off.

+ Stuffy Doll + Pariah = as many Lava Spikes as you have {R} to spend.............................with the added bonus of GRATUITOUS CREATURE EXPLOSIONS

No matter whether it's red or black, Pestilence is an incredibly brutal multiplayer card.

The red Pestilence! I like it very much, it can change the pace of the game, and is always followed by a huge card advantage...!
Like scumbling1 said, brutal in multiplayer!

Lame T-T'

So much better as Pestilence!

Then again, I'm bias for my four decks of the apacalypse... Honestly though, they could have made red do damage and black to loss of life, and creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn or something..

@Admiral_Ferret
The point of this card is that it is 'colour-shifted'. That means they took a card that could have been printed in a different colour, and printed it in that colour. To change it would mean making it not a colour-shifted card. Pestilence is old which is why it may seem a little weird.

This card is extremely powerful. Mana dump that board wipes and kills your opponent.

This is the timeshifted version of Pestilence.
