Not so "small", really. This spell is really powerful to say the least, especially in the right deck. 5/5

Quite powerful effect for a Smallpox.

Three hurras for the Smallpox + Thraximundar / Dragon Appeasement combo!
Decent card, especially dealing with annoying things like Worship or such.

I like how fitting the flavour text is.

Love love Love this card. Embodies black perfectly and manages to cram such diverse powerful effects into one efficient package. So much synergy potential: non-land mana producers, anything recursion, madness, any of the myriad effects that reward you/punish your opponent for creatures going to the graveyard. And this is just thinking generally.

This is good stuff. So small, and yet, so big :)

BB: disrupt the game--your tombstalker now costs 4 less to play.

It's like Pox, but small!

And the flavor has taught us all that many smallpoxes are better than a pox.

This defines a necromancer's deck, very sweet.

LOVE it in black EDH, but it kinda makes you a target. Use with caution ><

Love this card. I think I may love every card ever printed that costs BB...

Hate this card so much. Really wish they didn't bring it back. It's far too painful against decks that aren't prepared for it, especially when the deck that's included it can easily account for at least the discard and sacrifice portions of it (ie. Reassembling Skeleton for both, which will still be legal in Innistrad). Besides the sacrifice and discard, 1 life is laughable, and the land ditch can easily be offset by running a low CMC deck in the first place.

Basically, it's a great card to *use*, but a terrible card to play against, and that's why I hate it - the gulf between the two is pretty large.

Does no one here known what smallpox is? It killed more people than much of anything else.

Urist McPlaneswalker has been miserable lately. He was injured recently. He lost a card to tragedy recently. He lost a creature to tragedy recently. He lost a land to tragedy recently.

I used this to screw over a guy who played Darksteel Sentinel.

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.

This card references Pox, it's effect is just smaller. Smallpox is a real disease (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smallpox) and in fact is one of the only diseases believed to have been completely eradicated from humanity.

I use it with Charmbreaker Devils in Rakdos, Lord of Riots edh. Does quite a good job of shutting the game down entirely. It's not like I'm going to miss the land, since I'm playing all my Eldrazi for zero mana.

During one game, on turn 2, I managed to catch a player with a Llanowar Elves and a Utopia Sprawl'd Forest. That's four cards in the graveyard (including the discard)! Shut 'em down pretty hard.

Simply LOVE this card for all its suicide black goodness.

Tarmogoyf loves Smallpox. Tombstalker loves Smallpox. Legacy Junk decks run four Tarmy and four Tomby and zero Smallpox. Go figure.
