If you have it, use it. Great card; it's like picking a creature to draw but better!
May the fans continue to make cards!

so when it is returned 2 ur hand (creature) does it still have the ability?

doesn't give haste, so better to play it during your opponent's turn.

Forgeling: nope, casting this in opponents turn doesn't help. The creature still has the summonig sickenss. See rules, 302.6, summoning sickness.

You can still cast it on the opponent's turn to remove summoning sickness, read the rule again:

302.6. A creature’s activated ability with the tap symbol or the untap symbol in its activation cost can’t be activated unless the creature has been under its controller’s control continuously since his or her most recent turn began. A creature can’t attack unless it has been under its controller’s control continuously since his or her most recent turn began. This rule is informally called the “summoning sickness” rule.

If you play it during an opponents turn, it still has summoning sickness, so it can't tap. It can still block, but it goes back to your hand at the end of turn anyways, so it will have summoning sick when you summon it again.

It goes back to your hand at the end of YOUR next turn :p You can play it on your opponent's turn and attack with it on your next turn before returning it your hand at the end of the turn.

Combo with tutor effects (Like Worldly or Momir Vig), you can play toolbox with your creatures and better yet, do it again once it returns to your hand. Mystic Snake, anyone?

If you use an effect like Otherworldly Journey then the creature returns to the battlefield as a new object and won't be returned to your hand. A nice way of getting fatties out at the cost of two cards rather than an unpayable mana cost.

It's amazing how many people don't even bother to READ what the card or rules say.

Skew, W1LL15, Klaff: FAIL.

4 mana for an Ermakul swing, not bad at all.

I like this card, but I'm never able to make it work for me as well as I imagine it should...

Very nice card, I could use a few...
All I have is summoning traps but this is cheaper. Only digs four deep but has a handy bounce effect!

Use with Enters-the-Battlefield effects and for surprise blockers.

Combine with Sundial of the Infinite.

In response to the EOT triggered ability, activate the Sundial.
The creature will remain out until the next turn, where you can simply rinse/repeat the above and keep it out indefinitely.

Of course, you'll need to leave 1 mana spare for it each turn, plus any leftover for counterspells and such (since you'll be running blue).

I played it in a Chord of Calling deck with 4 Angel of Despair; it was quite good. If this finds one of the Angels, it becomes a Vindicate that blocks another creature (or attacks for 5) and then returns to your hand. Even when it only gets me a Loxodon Hierarch, it still destroys any Gruul deck.

Not bad when combined with the flicker support from Return Avacyn.

Ambiguity is awesome... except when I have to exasperatedly argue to my friends that yes, seriously, this card's "with" clause is giving the creature an ability, not restricting the sort of creature it can put onto the battlefield.

I'm carrying a staff and a sword. Three mages stand in front of me (two with staffs, one with a wand).

I kill the nearest mage with a staff.
