It may only be able to attack once and block twice, but it's still a 7/6 for 3B.

Its a good finisher with Lord of the undead and a loxodon war-hammer to give it trample.

This would go great with an Eon Hub on the following turn.

Hello Teneb, I didn't see you there.

@fangster: Fading is almost like Vanishing, except that Fading gives you an extra turn. Vanishing kills the creature when the last counter is removed whilst Fading kills the creature only during your upkeep when there are no more counters on it.
Also, Fading uses >fadetime< counters. Since Time Spiral is all about the time counters, it makes sense to use Vanishing over Fading.

i love this guy. He has been in every black deck i have ever had (i only have one sadly), and he has always either taken something with him or smashed my opponent hard

fangster: in addition to what Grimjawx said, they've moved away from fading in favor of vanishing. Apparently there is confusion among newer players, who sort of naturally expect that when you remove the last counter is when you should sacrifice the permanent. It's natural for new players to think of the counters as "this guy can stay in play" markers. Other players tend to forget that they need to sac it once the next upkeep rolls around: the pile of counters on the card is a good visual reminder that the creature needs to be tended to during your upkeep. Once the last one is gone, there's a whole turn (which in multiplayer can be a long time) to forget its days are numbered.

Love the art. Very flavourful for its colour too.

SO much better with Proliferate shenanigans. It's almost playable now!

If keeping in block, Gibbering Descent. Stops the decay and turns this 4cmc Wurm into a major beatstick. Staple on evasion (Fallen Ideal, perhaps?) and swing for some major, major pain.

This card gets better with haste.

EDIT: really good in Jund colors. Green for fast mana and trample, red for haste and fling, black.. cause he's black.
