@ Elleran Of course there's a benefit, his monster got through! Let's say you're playing against Reanimator. If you get hit by, say, Nicol Bolas and you're not running anything GY based, you just got fucked. How about if the enemy just got in Sharuum the Hegemon + Magister Sphinx with a resurrection spell and earlier used Buried Alive to also put Anger in their graveyard. If you want to win competitively, you need to aim for things which either prevent the damage or remove the source of the damage.

Harms Way+This when his game-ender blocks one of your storming tokens. Redirect 3 of the damage to you,exile his creature, and the damage goes away thanks to the life regen.
