In my opinion, WotC shoud do these kind of Vorthos cards more often nowadays.

For those on a budget, the uncommon Rackling from Nemesis does the same thing for 1 more mana, but is a 2/2 artifact creature instead of just an artifact.

Right up there with Hidden Gibbons for my favorite flavor text. Werebear is a strong contender as well.
While I normally like punny flavor texts, this one seems really out of place in the setting. If someone was getting tortured on this wheel, would another person really come along and ask if they could buy a bowel? I mean, seriously?
