Defending against this guy is like getting kicked in the head. You can cover your head, but then you get kicked in the hands!

So, he doesn't target anyone... He destroys protection from black I guess?

This dude is hilarious. I want a deck with him in there just so I can see how people react to this funny shit. Unfortunately I so far have only one of him...

Funny enough, I found out there's /another/ eye creature in the time spiral set, which does practically the same xD
Meaning that you /can/ actually build an "eye" deck xD

Yeah, it's P/T are reversed. It's a 3/6 creature, same ability. I have two of those. Different art too. HAHA!! It's name is Evil Eye of Orms-by-gore

But it's counterpart is unblockable, except by walls, so you decide which is better.

Here's yet another niche that changelings can slide into :D

Question: Since combat damage is assessed immediately at the beginning of the Combat Damage Step, and a creature is technically "blocked" as soon as blockers are declared (this being the reason we can still sac a Sakura-Tribe Elder after declaring it as a blocker, even though combat damage no longer uses the stack, so it can't kill anything), is it impossible to kill this creature with a block? The reason for this would be that the creature would be destroyed as soon as it blocks this creature, meaning before combat damage.

To answer the guy asking if it's impossible to kill it by blocking it: yes, except with indestructible creatures. Regenerating creatures get tapped and removed from combat before they can deal damage, and everything else dies.

This guy is actually not bad. The only thing it needs is trample, then it's basically unblockable, since everything that blocks it dies and the damage tramples through to the opponent. Having a converted mana cost of 5 means you can play it, and the next turn play and equip a loxodon warhammer. Then you got a (practically) unblockable 9/3 lifelinker. Or instead of the warhammer you play and equip two o-naginatas. Then yuo have a 12/3 unblockable guy. :)
Also fun with lure and similiar stuff. Oh, and don't forget that changelings can still attack when this guy is in play. :)

My favorite thing by far to do with this guy is to drop Lure onto him, and let my opponent lose any untapped, non-indestructible creatures whenever he attacks. The remainder of my creatures (Changelings, other copies of him and Orms-by-Gore, the occasional Inkeyes), can finish off the other player.

I'd like it if him and the Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore had their second abilities switched.

He dies to Loyal Sentry!

All told a rather fantastic card. Kills anything before they can hit him. As mentioned above, Lure makes for a fun combo, though I'd rather use Taunting Elf and Dead-Iron Sledge for that.

So if i were to have this Evil eye out, and a bunch of changelings along side it. Would they be able to attack with the eye, because they are eyes as well (and most likely have a pair of them attached to their noggin).

The new Xenograft can turn all your creatures into Eyes...ew, what a creepy thought...

@Jesseman: Yes. Changelings would be able to attack because they count as Eyes.

Also, this card is awesome.

IF you give this guy trample will he trample through for the full 6?

There's just something so terrifying about the thought of floating, disembodied, evil eyes. It's cards like this that make Magic great! It's too bad this can be bolted, unlike its more corpulent cousin, Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore. What I'm wondering is whether or not this would kill a creature with protection from black, such as White Knight. Technically, it's not dealing damage to it and it's not targeting it, so can it then destroy it? If so, WIN BUTTON!

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.

This card is referencing Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore.

The second ability is much better than deathtouch during combat. It triggers before damage is done so Evil Eye of Urborg kills faster than even first strike.

Hope the Nemesis Mask has a big enough eye-hole... and if you're running a changeyeling deck anyway, if you can't find Urborg, you can always stick the mask on a Skeletal Changeling or a Moonglove Changeling. The deck kinda writes itself.

It’s the deadly eye
Of Poogley-pie.
Look away, look away,
As you walk by,
‘Cause whoever looks right at it
Surely will die.
It’s a good thing you didn’t …
You did? …
Good-bye.

The fact that both this and Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore were in Time Spiral means that there were games where somebody got both of them on the field and attacked with both of them at the same time. I like that thought.
