I don't have to pay mana or life to draw a card? I'm up for that.

worst 5 drop in the game. i mean srsly why would a 1/1 with a drawback cost 4?

Much people underestimate the value of drawing an extra card per turn; essentialy, it gives you kind of an advantage in time - I have a casual deck focused on card drawing and setting up large combos and as soon as I have one of these on the board, the game usually turns into my favor (of course some may say that on turn 4, it's already a little late but hey, it's casual).

I just love it for its simplicity... 5/5 for me, I run 4x of these, gets me loads of extra cards plus I can toss him in front of a huge creature when I'm done drawing.

The only problem here is that since he's 1/1, your opponent will likely toss him before you are finished drawing... Nonetheless not a bad guy. Weak body, but an amazing ability providing constant, free card advantage.

People, you have to realize that this is a one-sided howling mine that can swing for 1 if needed and is a Wizard!
In my EDH deck, I run one of these guys, a bunch of other wizards (like Arcanis and Azami) and I tutor for em with Vedalken AEthermage. This is a really solid creature 3.5/5
I would say this needs a reprint, but it's unlikely to come back in any Standard environment that it has to share with Deceiver Exarch.

I truly solid card. Yes, the initial investment is a bit for a 1/1, but after that is is at least a one sided howling mine, and the wizard tribal is certainly not bad. In blue control this extra draw can lock your opponent out.

As much as I'd like to agree Duskdale_Wurm, you're not entirely right!
See, Lu Su is a Legendary Creature, which means he can be a general!
AND HE'S THE ONLY ONE THAT DRAWS YOU CARDS BY TAPPING!
Blehh... You're still right, though.

Add and you get +3/+3, flying, pinging whenever you draw a card... oh yeah, and it's a dragon. Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind. Fun stuff!

@GrimjawwxRULES
Saying something combo's with Pemmins Aura is like saying you went to your kitchen today. Everybody knows. I think it is the most comboable card in magic (contender being Intruder Alarm).
On the card, wee bit overcosted, but a card is a card.
