Combo this with Steamflogger Boss by changing "two" to "three" in order to have each of your Riggers assemble three contraptions!

How 'bout, combo this with Mana Screw for unbounded mana?!

I remember thinking this card took two mana, because on many older R and D cards the casting cost was listed as Number (total casting cost) and number of mana symbols. So 2WW would be the casting cost of white knight. That was a long time ago and this card is still good, mainly because of its many combo's (Uktabi Kong for infinite apes?)

Not something you want to leave in play without some enchantment-destruction in hand to stop opponents taking advantage of this. Play as part of a game-breaking combo, the turn you let it off.
Combo with Feral Lightning to make 4 4/1 Elementals, double all +1/+1 bonuses and -1/-1 penaltys, give yourself ANOTHER extra turn with Time Streatch, whatever you do, make it big and do it fast.

Aaron's Random Card Comment of the Day #35, 11/12/10
Many cards in the silver-bordered Unhinged set riff off of existing black-bordered Magic cards, but this one is a reference to a prior silver-bordered card from the Unglued set, Look at Me, I'm the DCI.
Whereas “the DCI” is a mysterious, shady front of an organization whose name used to be an abbreviation for something people no longer remember (and is now just a string of letters), “R&D” is a real, concrete body of actual humans, many of whom I have met. And R&D’s initials actually stand for something: Randy & Del.
Randy Buelher, former Director of Magic R&D, and his wife, Del Laugel, current Senior Magic Editor, are the first family of making Magic, so it makes sense that the department is named after them. The blue handwriting on this particular card is, in fact, Randy’s. (The red editorial markings on Frazzled Editor, also in Unhinged, are Del’s work.)
Randy contributed quite a bit to this particular card beyond the hours of playtesting that convinced him to make those hand-written changes. The Moat that was ruined when the sticker was applied came from his personal collection, and while he didn’t get to illustrate the card the way Mark Rosewater (under constant surveillance for allegedly being a member of the DCI at one point) did for Look at Me, I'm the DCI, he did get to hand-select the artist chosen to do the painting. As you can see from the scribblings at the bottom, he nominated famous the famous Scandinavian surrealist known only as “Sporkj” (that is not a semicolon, I swear, and it certainly isn’t part of some sort of set-wide secret message buried in the legal text), as Sporkj is the only talent on the planet capable of capturing Randy’s full countenance suitably.
Unfortunately, he missed his deadline and we had to use the sticker.

Aww, Aaron . . . doesn't Darksteel Spork feel a little hurt by the snub?

You'd want to use a shock or bolt, as your shower of sparks would cost 20 too. Just saying. x.X

The card reads one higher or lower. 1 can only become 0 or 2.

I have it on good authority that choosing "1 = 0" is a really, really bad idea.
I will withhold any further commentary for fear of having missed a joke.

That's not a real Moat under it. New white mana symbols and Fifth Edition wide textbox don't work there. Someone laid it out using the Seventh Edition/Time Spiral version of the old frame and then dropped the sticker scan on top of it. Cute, but not quite "Randy gave up a Moat for this" cute.
Nice reference to "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee" from Grease. Pretty obscure though.

What if you name 0 and then -1? Can I cast a Summoner's Pact and have it give me ?

I choose 487 and 486. For all those people who like overkill, your Pygmy Giant is now USELESS!

Run four. Change 1 to 2, then change 2 to 4, then change 4 to 8.
Now you can change any number to any other number 8 higher or lower than that number. Or change 8 to 0, just to break the last three cards you played...

Could work in black-bordered Magic, aside from the massive rules-bending it would do. Maybe in another 5 years?
