I like Elvish Piper better. While you don't have to pay to put the creature into play, you can only do it during a select timeframe, losing the element of surprise. Additionally, this card is harder to splash.

Those are quite some ears! I always prefer elves that actually look significantly different from humans. Don't you love those seemingly meaningless restrictions you find on old cards which double the rules text length?
