Souls of the Faultless is a really more effective and complete card; yet the cost is much more specific so I suppose you get what you pay for...

When Wall of Souls is blocking a 5/5 non-trample creature, how much life does attacking player lose?

He loses five life. A creature deals as much damage as power it has, even if the blocking creature has lower toughness.

Creature type: Wall. Ok, that's kinda lame. How about 'Spirit/Specter/Nightmare/Horror Wall?'

@sbridge:
The attacking player loses five life.
@EerieTeferi:
Wall of Souls does one damage to the attacking creature, which is a -1 -1 counter.It will also give the attacking creature's controller 10 poison counters. Wall of souls will die, the attacking creature is now a 9/9, and the opponent has 10 poison counters.

This is the type of card that should have Flash. Not interesting for fun.

Meh. Not as exciting as the likes of Stuffy Doll - admittedly it's cheaper but regardless it doesn't seem worth it without flash

When Wall of Souls defends a creature with infect, does that creature's controller get damage or poison counters?
Utterly hilarious when used with Blind Fury against a big trampler. What's that Darksteel Colossus? You don't want to play any more?
Mogg Maniac serves a similar purpose in red, but doesn't rack up damage against weenie deck earlier on.

Back in the days, I played it with the kor creatures, like spirit en-Kor. Blocking the kor creatures or being blocked by them then always resulted in the opponent being hurt by the wall of souls. ^^

Pariah? I guess? Redirected combat damage is still combat damage.

Is there anything you cannot make better?
Totally disagree, it's a great control wall.
