when used with powerups, this creature can lay waste to weaker opponents

Won me the game with sword of fire and ice and dead modular creatures
excellent over all creature, maybe a little much for a 3/4, or make him a 4/4, but still, very powerful

Use with modulars for sure, use arcbound crusher and pump it up everytime you attack with this guy, then when the crusher dies he gets even more pumped up =)

I don't know what it is, but my brain insists on telling me that this is one of the top 10 coolest cards in existence.

This card is fun in decks that use the exalted mechanic and is one of only five cards that allow you to both trigger those abilities and attack with more than one creature. Also fun with static, all-creature pump abilities (e.g. Beastmaster Ascension), since the copy will be based on the pumped original and will then receive the pump itself (e.g. an 8/9 and a 13/14). Also huge fun with my personal favorite, Pandemonium. But, then again, what isn't?

Works nicely with Blade of the Bloodchief because it says sacrifice the token at the end of combat as opposed to exile the token at the end of combat so either way one creature is gonna die during your combat.

This card, like many other near-forgotten mirrodin artifacts, was cursed with being released in the same set when the infamous affinity mechanic was introduced.

Using this, Arcbound creatures and Throne of Geth, you can put a few counters on the Gemini, attack with the two pumped up creatures, then sac the copy at the end of combat (or if it will die) with the Throne's ability to pump everything again.
Somewhat convoluted, but each part works well together anyway.
What happens to the token if Gemini Engine leaves the battlefield, say, by being bounced back to your hand before the token is generated?

Perhaps this is a somewhat noobish comment but if I were to attack with Gemini Engine equipped with a Trepanation Blade, since they both are 'whenever ______ attacks' which happens first? Does the twin gain the boost or does that have to happen afterwards?
Pity it's not a golem, this would have made a great synergy with Precursor Golem. Then again, there is a shitload of synergies with Precursor Golem out there. And i'm already pretty glad about Gemini Engine's nicely fixed creature type mess.

Quick question - Anyone know why this didn't have its creature type printed on the card?

@K1nG_0f_Sh0v3l5: When this was printed, artifact creatures didn't have creature types.

@DritzD27: Usually when you have two triggers that would occur at the same time, and you control both of them (n this case both trigger at the Declare Attackers step), you may choose which order they go onto the stack. The best case for the Trepanation Blade would be to stack the Twin trigger first, then the TB trigger so that when they resolve you get the power boost for Gemini and the Twin will then appear with the higher power.
@DariusIV: If you have declared the Gemini Engine as an attacker, the "create a twin token" ability will have been triggered and will exist on the stack. Abilities on the stack can exist independently of the source that created them and aren't countered if the source of that ability is destroyed, exiled or bounced. (Magic Comprehensive Rules; Abilities Section 112.7a) So if the Gemini Engine is in play and declared as an attacker, the Twin token will come into play, attacking, even if Gemini disappears. Additionally, the "Sacrifice the Token at the End of Combat" trigger attached to the Gemini Engine will no longer be around when combat ends, meaning that your new Twin token will not be sacrificed! This is because the action saying to sacrifice the token is part of the Gemini Engine card, and isn't inherent in the token itself.
TL,DR! @DritzD27 - You choose the ability order. @DariusIV - Twin still arrives, and stays in play.

Woah this + exalted. If you put his triggered ability on the stack "first", he will get beefed from exalted and then make the token.

Regarding the "untapped and attacking" thing: Rulings aside, I can't help feeling like Wizards released this card misprinted and was just too stubborn to errata it. Every single time an effect like this has been printed before or after, it's always said "tapped and attacking". Even if I buy that it was worded intentionally, what's the point of the token having pseudo-Vigilance anyway? It's certainly not copying a base characteristic of Gemini itself. So, in summation: Printing fail, fess up fail, and flavor fail.
As to the card's actual playability: For 6 mana I'd rather have tokens that don't exile themselves. Simple as that. 3/5.

If only the token had also had all abilities of Gemini Engine, then it would've been amazingly powerful. Still nice that you can buff the Engine and then the token will have the same power and toughness.

This card is like Stangg's twin. Great with any pump spell(and he can be played in the colors that have them). Also good with Intruder Alarm, effectively giving him vigilance. Please correct me if you disagree.

Id usually rather have doublestrike and, if I can have it, trample. Unfortunately boros keyrune is the only "artifact creature" with doublestrike.
The problem with this is you really have to put work into keeping it alive. Its 6 mana with only 4 toughness. If it is blocked and killed the token really doesnt count for much. At that point I would usually rather have an unblockable creature, which is often far cheaper.

I feel like this just tries to be good at temporary token generation, double striking, and evasion, but just falls short in every category. Give me a grave titan, sun titan, invisible stalker, precursor golem, myr battlesphere, wolfir silverheart, or kiln fiend over this any day.
In summary, this needs a very specific deck to work, and just isnt quite good enough to warrant making that deck.
