Lacks haste.
Would be such an awesome card if he had.
It's not that bad nontheless, but too slow to consider using it for some alternate Affinity deck experiments with discard option.

Seems like it'd work really well with a Grave Pact out. Pay 2 mana, and sacrifice the Devourer himself, causing your opponent to sacrifice a creature too.

@JaxsonBateman
Lol imagine if you had a Grave Pact and Nim Devourer on the battlefield and a Nim Devourer in your graveyard? That would basically be "BlackBlack: each opponent sacrifices a creature."?

The nim had a very cool mechanic going. I'm sorry we haven't seen its kind since.

If this had haste, it would be broken.... Which is why I run 4 with 4 Mad Hysterias! I also run a Butcher of Malikir to even the playing field. HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!

you don't need two of them you can bring him into play and sacrifice him again.
also reassembling skeleton... just though I'd mention it.
I'm making a deck full of self recuring creatures, this guy is high on the list of creatures for it, adds some power to the deck, and it's easy enough to sacrifice a idk nether spirit for him.

BlackBlack: Put X+4 +1/+1 counters on Kresh the Bloodbraided, where X equals the number of artifacts you control. Play this only during your upkeep.

Awesome for EDH. You can combo in Electropotence, Garruk's Packleader and other ETB effects to squeeze out more for each BlackBlack you pay. (You can sac himself to his own ability and pay it again as long as you stay in your upkeep phase)

@ Grimjaw Why would you need two Nim Devourers? This guy can return itself to play and eat itself again. Over and over and over each turn, as often as you got mana. He's good with anything that triggers on creatures dying or entering the battlefield.

I didn't see the part about only rezing it on your upkeep at first.

I'll share anyway. I was thinking to have four in your graveyard, and rez it when something attacks you for two mana, block with it, and then sacrifice it as the second part of its ability. Won't kill any thing, but it's an ultimate(ish) defense for as long as you have two swamps set aside for each creature without flying.

Also, wouldn't you also be able to do that more than once, to soak up as many attacking creatures as you have mana for and can be blocked by this card?
