An excellent card, Comboes with Animate Artifact and Instill Energy for infinite turns.

It was nice to see that they restored the original functionality for this card...

Yeah, wasn't there a period of time when the text was errata'd to include some token? It could only gain a token if you skipped a turn or something? And you could only use it to take an extra turn if it had a token on it? I remember something like that. The original text is much better.

The single most broken card in the game.

I find it funny how on some of the other versions' discussion boards, people are talking about pairing an Alpha Set card with cards like fatestitcher and Twiddle. It's an artifact. There's another artifact that grants the Key to unlocking this card's true potential, for {2}. Why make things so difficult on yourself with over-costed untap abilities and single use cards?

Seriously.

The original wording of Time Vault is:

Tap to gain an additional turn after the current one. Time Vault doesn't untap normally during untap phase; to untap it, you must skip a turn. Time Vault begins tapped.

It clearly states that you must skip a turn to untap Time Vault.

Why not word it so that no other untapping won't work. This is my take of the Oracle wording:

Time Vault enters the battlefield tapped.
Time Vault doesn't untap unless you skip your turn. (You can only skip your turn when your turn is about to begin.) If you would begin your turn while Time Vault is tapped, you may skip that turn instead. If you do, untap Time Vault.
Tap: Take an extra turn after this one.

The card that simply should not be.

@LordRandomness: That wording is still inherently flawed. You skip your next turn, then you tap it to take a turn before your opponent. Then on that turn you skip your next turn, then take an extra turn after your opponent's turn, ad infinitum.

"If Time Vault becomes untapped, you skip your next turn.
{T}: Take an extra turn after this one."

EDIT: Tynansdtm: Are you sure that's how turn skipping works? I thought it was "When you would next begin a turn you don't" as opposed to "your next turn is removed from the turn order", like it checks the next time you try to start a turn and foils it then. If not, something worded like "the next time you would begin a turn, skip that turn instead" would work

Janice was pleased with how the wedding was coming together. Her insect helmet looked great with her bridal dress, the hourglass centerpieces glowed magnicently, her bridemaids were unrecognizable in their blue-and-red burqas (all the eyes should be on the bride). The only problem was that the cake still wasn't done - maybe asking for a cake the size of a small car had been a bad idea.
