This needs a reprint just because it would make an awesome foil with the new way they do foils.

This card's rating is kind of low... Considering not much feedback either...

Well here is some food for thought. 1/3 body for 2cmc is really not too bad. Having 3 toughness will come in handy and may allow this guy to block something and still throw his absorb at another source. Not to mention this little cleric may force an opponent to use a removal spell, especially if combined with Mother of Runes. Now any fattie, or even direct burn can be absorbed easily. Redirect your damage to beacon, give beacon protection from the color of the damage. You can even absorb the mighty progenitus with this combo, you don't need to sac anything or tap any mana for these abilities either.

I guess I will continue by adding; White has so many 1 (cmc) or 2 (cmc) spells that can easily amplify this cleric. Whether your looking for protection from a color, or reviving this with something like Order of Whiteclay. I will not say for sure this creature will ever enter tournament play, but likely not. Although I would not dismiss this card lightly. Abilities to redirect damage have many different avenues that can be explored. This redirect costs nothing more then a tap.

It's not that bad really, its just today's 12 year old on the go needs to win before he's even drawn his hand, or he's going to drop trou and defecate in the shop.

Bacon of Destiny.

Clearly the guy in the art just took a bite.

...hey, nobody said it was a good destiny.

It would be cool if the card (and other effects like it) worked this way:

You activate its ability. The next time this turn you would take damage, Beacon takes it instead
Beacon dies. After its activation resolved
Opponent targets you with a spell. Instead of taking damage, the spell damages Beacon's cold, lifeless body.

What, they didn't say he had to be alive!
