Amplify is good, trample is good, zombie tribal decks are fun. Still a pity it doesn't have fear, or regeneration, or anything... 7 mana is quite a lot.

I prefer trample to fear personally; there's something sadistically gratifying about your opponents scrambling to throw feeble blockers in front of your big scary meat tanks.

needs undead warchiefs to bring that cost down but a big trample zombie is never bad

7 cmc makes it hard to have much left in your hand to use for Amplify unfortunately. Even if you had 2 to reveal it would be a solid creature though. Possibly good in a deck that has card drawing or a way to get a bunch of creatures from your graveyard back to your hand before you cast the brute.

Only really worth it in Zombie decks obviously.

Useful for when your opponent has enough creatures to chump-block most of your attacks with your other non-trample creatures. And the 7 CMC is easier to pay when you have some Undead Warchief and Cabal Coffers out.

why is it rated so high? it is severely overcosted, and a fast aggro zombie deck wouldnt bunker potential attackers to wait for amplification of this guy, let alone it's 5/4 for 7cmc, no thanks?

You really have to reveal at least 2 zombies in order for this to be worth the cost. For 7 a CMC in a tribe filed with 2 to 4 CMC cards, it's just not worth while. A zombie deck should already have eaten the opp's brains by turn 7. Now, if he had amplify 2...

guys! you're forgetting what element of MTG zombie decks are oriented around: REANIMATOR!
Okay, i guess this card may be a little unfriendly, should you Reanimate it. But that CERTAINLY doesn't go to say that you can't use a different stratagem to get it out in enough time to capitalize on the Amplify!
Zombify, and maybe even a Rise from the Grave. Also don't disregard Soul Exchange
This card should be at least a 4/5.

I agree, I like trample better than fear, because when your opponents find out they can't block you, they'll start getting far more aggressive than you'd probably like
