It was a rare in the Dark. For some reason some retard in Development decided this would be good as an Uncommon in Fourth and Fifth. This would be a Mythic today. A Banned in Standard and Modern Mythic. This card is so retardedly overpowered, I now see what R&D means by complaining that Old Blue got too much Color Pie.
I mean, of course Old Blue was too powerful, but I didn't think it had an unfair share of mechanical devices. I now see I am completely, 100%, as wrong as it is possible to be, because this card should never be mono-colored of ANY color that's how much power AND utility it has. Also should cost 3 times as much mana and be about 5 times as Rare in Limited.
Actually, this card in unsalvageably WRONG. Just think: If this were an Instant, we'd have our answer to What could POSSIBLY be more undercosted than ANCESTRAL RECALL??! Yep. This could have been the Blue Boon. Check out my comment on The Dark printing, too :)

I suppose this could be used with Reanimate. Though there are usually better options for that kind of deck, such as Careful Study.

This card is truly hilarious. Along with bump in the night there can be a deck consisting of exactly 30 "lightning bolts." This would even combo with fiery temper. It's just great to see how far the game and its cards have come since the early days. Lol
