Instant addition to blue devotion decks; whether this replaces Cloudfin Raptor or Judge's Familiar has yet to be seen.

Poor sheep, following the siren. Its song was not meant for you!

Early aggro, late game control, very nice creature.

Someone tell that cyclops to mind the gap...

@SkyknightXi The card does give flying. Upon closer look at the art, I think the cyclops is actually mid-air.

Spirit Away makes a much improved return to Standard.

A Flying Men that becomes a Control Magic with upside later on in the game. No way does this not see play in some way, shape, or form.

It's not really a valid comparison, because you can't get your creature back with parity by using a Lightning Bolt or similar on the siren. You would require a niche removal spell that could hit an aura, or you'd have to kill the enchanted creature, leaving the opponent with 3 cards up on you; the remaining siren, the initial creature, and the removal spell.

Is that Gluttonous Cyclops in the background?

I think I would have preferred our enchantment clone (think what they did with Phyrexian Metamorph). This is still awesome, though.

Basically a more flexible Spirit Away. I like that early game it can be a flying weenie, and late game it can be a pseudo-removal spell.

Guys, you don't understand. This card is not constructed playable at all whatsoever. Even if mono blue devotion wasn't dieing off anyway, this card would not help that deck at all. A 1/1 flyer for one only works if it has some very strong upside, like Judge's Familiar and Cloudfin Raptor. As long as those cards are Standard legal, no competitive Standard player worth his salt is going to touch the Siren.

Here's the deal: seven mana is way too much in order to take control of an opponent's creature, even if it gives it +1/+1 and flying and you get a 1/1 flyer after it dies. It just isn't strong enough an effect for seven mana (don't you dare compare this with the powerhouse that is Sower of temptation). Mono blue devotion usually curves out at four, maaaaaaybe five with the occasional sideboard card. A few decks stretch to six with an Aetherling on sideboard, but a lot of people would say that that is a bad decision. Even then, in terms of raw power, Aetherling is the most powerful blue finisher in Standard right now. Do you really think that this guy is even close to being as powerful as him? The same goes for Esper Control. While it is true that they have seven mana on a regular basis, Elspeth, Sun's Champion and Aetherling are much better finishers.

This is fine in limited, though. Because in the current limited environment a lot of times your opponent will be beating you down with one giant dude that has a lot of bestowed creatures on him, being able to take control of that creature without allowing your opponent to get all of his bestowed creatures is very nice.

RAV004, let me explain to you the difference between this and Sower of Temptation.

For starters, this gives your stolen creature flying. Sower does not. Then there's the fact those two cards act completely differently to removal. Our Faerie friend dies to any removal spell worth it's salt, from red's burn to black's destroy to white's exile- even green's flyer hate. Then your opponent gets a creature back and you're down a fae. With the super Siren, however, your opponent has to kill the opposing creature if all he or she has is a kill spell Then they lose a creature and you still get a Flying Men. In a slower game that's definitely worth tree mana.

Then add the fact you can use the siren turn one or two if you fell it's necessary.

They're both good cards and are both priced well for what they do.

A 1/1 might not be much advantage after your controlled creature dies, but you can bounce her and re-cast to control something else which can be pretty nasty, effectively converting your early game bounce into more mind controls. Also, y'know, Peel from Reality
