Well, Phyrexian Plaguelord is cheaper. And has no mana cost associated with the ability, but the recursion is neat and the body is a beating. A bit of redundancy doesn't hurt either.

This guy is so big that I'm pretty sure that he has few Ornithopters in his pocket. Maybe even Memnites.

Should have been legendary so it could be a commander. I guess they'd have to do a cycle then, but still. This guy isn't very strong, but would be totally legit as a casual commander.

Looks like a creature that fell out of the Golgari design document. I can see this guy taking over a board...if you're way ahead or have lots of expendables.
Not the ideal card, but it's combat damage clause is not very common which makes him a very useful tool in the right deck.
