Man, if only this was a block with a ton of power boosts to utilize double strike. Maybe even something that likes color-intensive mana costs. Then I'd definitely pick this early in a draft. But nope, it's just a 1/2 double striker for three.

A two-headed kerberos. In other words, an orthrys. (/pedant)

The left head kind of sounds like a douche.

The ordeals sound pretty sick on this.

Double strike at common. Mmm, delicious potential for Pauper. I didn't realise it before, but I was totally waiting for this card!

A "usual" Cerberus would have triple strike.

After drafting and playing with this card a few times I've come to the conclusion that double strike just isn't worth paying two additional mana for--especially when deathtouch can be found for a single mana. I think 1R would have been a fair cost, even at common, considering a 1/2 still needs ancillary pump to make it playable.

But how can the left head keep the right one starved when they share the same stomach?

It's good to have a better Gray Ogre variant once in a while.

@sweetgab

That makes me think of an ashmouth hound with double strike.

Last night at FNM:
Me: "And I bestow Two-Headed Cerberus with the power of Purphoros's Emissary. Swing for eight?"
Opponent: "Ouch."
Me: "I believe the correct response is 'OH MY GOSH IT'S A TWO-HEADED TWO-HEADED CERBERUS!'"

I pulled this and Dragon Mantle from a Theros booster. I stuck them in my casual mono-red Goblin Tunneler deck that was already using Crown of Flames. In the first game I played, I managed to drop the Cerberus and the Dragon Mantle on turn four. The next turn, I used a Tunneler to make it unblockable, pumped it five times and then sac'd a mountain to play Downhill Charge, swinging for 20 damage.

I wish they had art with a third, missing head evident so it is like a wound and not a different mythical creature. It even looks like another head could go in on the right and look normal.

I would love to see a mythic or maybe a silver boarder with triple strike: "This creature deals combat damage before other creatures, first strike damage and regular combat damage."

A more sensible approach would be a creature with double strike and "Whenever this creature attacks it deals damage equal to its power to defending player."

Maybe the simple, obvious "This creature cannot be blocked except by three or more creatures." though with the Hekatonkheires already in set that would be mighty boring.

If it weren't for the color differences, this would be strictly worse than Fabled Hero, which is in the same set! Same CMC (and double colored mana!), this has lower power and no heroic ability.
Now that's what I call vertical power creep.

@TheMetaMuce

......he was being sarcastic. Theros is loaded with power boosts and things that like color-intensive mana costs......

@Heretical_Tarp Maybe, except Fabled Hero is rare and this dude is a common. The only common creature with Double Strike in the game to boot. I think they are likely designed for different formats (standard/pauper) and both are fully capable of seeing a lot of play.
