Woot, a reprint! I feel this card is decent, considering its a common that can steal cards for a turn....

3 Mana to steal a creature for a turn? Why not?! :D

This is a great re-flavoring. The subject looks truly loathsome.

Welcome back old friend. Does anyone else agree that similar cards now in standard are just overcosted or not splashy enough? That said I definitely like the old core set art better.

This card does it all! It not only steals your opponent's creatures, but it gives them haste!

Yay, a 3-mana steal effect that doesn't give my opponent a permanent 1/1 counter.

I'm glad that this is back. Always a fun card for casual and limited.

Well, they were never going to make better art for this than that Sphinx, but I'm glad I don't HATE the art....I think it should have shown a Dimir Agent though, not an Orzhov Cleric, for the tres amusant irony of it. :) This card's Guild affiliation is pretty clearly Rakdos.

Still way better than mark of mutiny. I enjoyed this card before so i'm sure i will again, we'll see though.

So many reprints in this cycle, maybe that's why i'm not so happy about this great card making a comeback. but still a great card. New art is fantastic, i never cared for the old random sorceress... This guy's like a pregnant pudge. Time to go play some dota 2 lol!

Interesting new art.

This is verging on being a classic card. Obviously works well with the likes of fling and general sacrifice outlets, but within Gatecrash, it disrupts Battalion, puts a lot of pressure on Simic, mitigates Soul Ransom, and Dimir hate this (especially with Voidwalk, which would decode (???) this, or another card).
What would Boros do against Aurelia, the Warleader?

steal, swing, and Fling. my favorite game-ending one-two punch with red.

Picture him yelling out "Cream puffs!" in a voice like the Hedonism Bot from Futurama.

Meh, I never really liked sorcery speed stealing. I'd much rather pay four mana to have it be an instant.

Steal, swing, cloudshift and...... Oh, hope you weren't planning on getting that back.

Why would they reprint Threaten and give it a different name?

Hey, it's actually a fat guy on a magic card. You don't see that every day.

That fat Orzhov guy really gets in a lot of trouble, between this one and Massive Raid.

Because Traitorous Instinct wasn't JUST reprinted.

@ NerotheWizard: I nearly laughed off my chair at your comment. Now I will never look at this card with a straight face.

This card tells an interesting story when compared to Massive Raid

I enjoy the battalion mechanic quite a bit, because it's a little sub-goal to achieve in each game with a pretty decent pay off.

Getting three creatures attacking isn't always as easy as it sounds though, often because of some nasty blocker, or you only having two creature because your opponent keeps picking them off, or finally having a third creature but it can't attack yet because it was just summoned and doesn't have haste.

This card was usually all it took to take my two not-so-elite Boros Elites and have them push through and kill my opponent.

What do you use to sac said creatures? Or do you cloudshift / conjurer's closet them?

Playing EDH with a friend the other day, Melek(me) vs Marath(him)
He has a Hamletback Goliath on the field that quickly grows to 30/30 or so, and I'm in eminent danger of a crushing defeat at its hands. I chump off my Mercurial Chemister without getting to use his abilities, so I'm now sad AND worried. I proceed to top deck this card as he has tapped all his attackers and has 3 cards in hand. Needless to say, I swung with it for the win. If he tried to Gruul Charm it back, I had Fling as a backup plan.

Hum , does it steals gogs for good ?
Cause taking a god that is a creature and is not anymore when you are in control of it cause you can fulfill the devotion would not make it a non valid target to goes back cause it isn't a creature anymore?
If you can sack the creature it doesn't goes back cause it had ceased to be a creature or on the battlefield.

While most people use this to steal creatures, it can also be used on your own creatures to give them haste or untap them following a sleep type effect or after combat as well. 3 mana for that much Utility seems pretty reasonable.
