The flavor text matches the rules text so perfectly on this card. I love it.

I concur with motti886, sometimes wizards just gets the amount of wit, relevance and self-referencing of flavour text exactly right. Another one of my favourites is Lightning Bolt.

Fantastic use of design space and self-referencing. It's effectively a mirror reflection of Terror and the designers acknowledge that in the flavour text. Fantastic job.

This card makes me sad to look at, seeing one of my favourites reiver demon getting defeated by blinking light. It's kinda like the feeling I got after watching the ending video from Warcraft 3, watching magnificient demons getting defeated by shimmers of light is so... sad.At least give them a fitting cataclysmic end, not this.
Oh, and btw, nice reversed terror thing...

I give it 4 stars just for being a reverse Terror.

The perfect complement in a w/b deck to Doom Blade or Go for the Throat

Maybe I'm missing something but how is it a reflection (mirror) of Terror? Terror says, "Destroy target nonartifact, nonblack creature." Purge says, "Destroy target artifact creature or black creature." So, Terror can affect 4 colors. Purge affects artifact and black creatures. I would say therefore that Terror is significantly more powerful because it affects 4 categories ("colors") of creatures whereas Purge only affects 2. Thoughts?

Having said that, however, it's obviously an excellent sideboard card. And the flavor text matches the card perfectly, as others have said.

@tpkatsa: It's a reflection because it affects the exact creatures that Terror doesn't.
