Functional reprint in Fall of Eldrazi. I would so like that, Wizards you should do that.

I find the oracle text hilarious for some reason.

Hi. I'm a token named Wood.

Someone should combo this with Wall of Kelp and just sit around making Woods and Kelps all day.

Shields of Velis Vel would let you sacrifice any of your creatures for red mana...there are better cards out there though.

@tcollins: No it would not. This only lets you sacrifice tokens named Wood, not card creatures.

unfortunately, this isn't nearly as good as Tinder Wall

You get flavor points if your wood tokens are made of actual pieces of wood. Snapped twigs would do just fine. But if you light your (literal) wood tokens on fire when you sacrifice them, you have taken the joke too far.

It would be cool if this card let you sacrifice a Wood Elemental to add R to your mana pool.

This card gives me... eh, never mind.

This is a pretty cool card. Unfortunately there isn't any other way to get tokens named, "Wood." =

That being said this is a nice thematic way to power up an Axebane Guardian or Overgrown Battlement. If you want to go really deep you could use it to help power a Doorkeeper or a Vent Sentinel.

So, you're placing your Wood (token) on the table for everyone to see. And then you can sacrifice your Wood (token) for mana. Eh. It's ok.

Run with Ovinomancer.
