@Gracefullnferno: not strictly, just mostly. If this ETBT then it would be strictly, but you can tap this for 1 before you get to use your sanctum.
Not that any one would ever use these any way.

"Hogwarts: strictly worse than Arcane Sanctum."
Arcane Sanctum comes into play tapped; this doesn't. It's not a case where you can use the term "strictly better".
Can Wizards buy some airtime on TV and do some public service announcements regarding the term "strictly better'? Please?

I would love to see people use the term "strictly better" as it should be used. Sorry for the off-topic, on the card, lame :D

Feroz was apparently really, really bad when it came to using colored mana.

Poor Feroz. A charitable flavor interpretation is impossible. Apparently doing evil is as hard as doing good and requires input from other sources, doing magic-for-magic's-sake is twice as easy as good or evil but still requires some outside resources, and even a measly 1cc artifact takes an entire school of wizards an entire turn to produce.
Compare with Mishra's Factory. That Mishra dude made the trains run on time.
(Someday they'll print Feroz as a planeswalker, and we'll all be sorry for having made fun of him in school. Feroz' loyalty-boost ability will be "Add to your mana pool. Skip your next turn." and his ultimate ability will be "Tap all lands on the battlefield. If a land other than Wizards' School would untap, exile it instead." Then this card will see a huge spike in value; it might even go as high as $0.25. Buy 'em up early...)

Horrible, as was this entire cycle of lands. Still beats Sorrow's Path, but that's not saying much!

Graceful Inferno: Actually Clifftop Retreat is Hogwarts. And it's strictly better than most lands.
(There are LOT of lands. The M10/Innistrad Mega Cycle might be worse than the Ravnica, Onslaught/Zendikar, and Alpha/Beta Mega Cycles...but they are still in the Top Class of Lands.)

If the legacy of Feroz lives on in THIS, then I think his legacy would be much better on dead.

A misguided card from a misguided set. This whole cycle is disappointing; Aysen Abbey, Koskun Keep, etc. There was no reason to print such weak cards. Such discontinuity at this point in Wizards' publishing history.

"Wizards' School."
Maybe Wizards can take lessons on how to give cards more creative names there.

Baack when I started playing (4th/ice age), other than the dual lands, these were the only multi-color output lands. Most of the time i saw them ppl used them for the colorless mana, but once in a while they served thier conversion purpose.
On other note people used sengir castle if they had baron sengir in their decks.
At the time they were the poor man's dual lands

If it was to , to , instead of for or for , then it'd be a good filter land, IMO.
If it were up to me, I'd have designed it as:
: Add to your mana pool. , : Add , , or to your mana pool.
Applying that to the other filters in this set would have made them pretty damned decent.

@nibelheim_valesti: Directly upgraded to School of the Unseen in the very next set.
One must concider this cycle as a valued lesson to Wizards how not to desing trilands.

I know how to fix this card:
Tap: Add 1 to your mana pool. 1, Tap: Add 1 to your mana pool. 2, Tap: Add or to your mana pool, then add 1 to your mana pool.
This way, you need at least 3 mana to get all three colors out of it (albeit not all three at once), and you don't lose any of the mana that you put into it. That would make it just about the best tri-land ever printed.
