Obviously coin flip cards have an ignoble history, but this is one of the less bad by virtue of having such minor effects. In the right deck the symmetry can be broken easily enough (and I'm not just talking about Goblin Bookie and Krark's Thumb ;) ). Then again the very fact the effects are so minor means it's still not exactly a great card...

Almost the only card in Homelands that has the sort flavor that fits with Ice Age, the set Homelands was at one time an expansion to.

Yes, a Homelands card... you can flip a coin and do almost nothing. I suppose you might be in a situation where either effect would help, but wouldn't useful cards help more? At least it's cheap.

Kill weenies or get another card, not that bad for one R. 2/5

As far as coin-flip cards go, this is nowhere near as cool as Impulsive Maneuvers.

What if the 1 dmg / draw 1 was instead 7 dmg / draw 7. Now that would be a fun coin flip card that felt rare! I should have worked for Wizards during the Homelands days.

I don't even... why is this card like it is? Why do I get either a small earthquake or symmetrical draw? What does either part have to do with the other? What does any of this have to do with "Winter Sky"? Like, I'm not talking about power level here... I can understand overcosted cards. But this is just so... random.

This card has an especially ridiculous place in my heart...

I had always thought it was the one card missing from my second complete set of Homelands...

Today I discovered I do have two, one being French - Terres Natales.

Like: WTF? Where did I get THAT from??

So basically, it's:

Heads: You get a poor man's Pyroclasm
Tails: You lose one card advantage.

Yay?

Doesn't even let you call the coin flip. :(

I played a game today where this killed my last two remaining opponents. It was five-player, and I finished off the Eldrazi guy with Goblin Bangchuckers. I was playing someone else's coin flip deck: dropped one of them 16 from a pair of uses of Game of Chaos. The funniest part was goading the last two players into dropping each other to 1 through a series of retaliations (against each other, I just sort of sat there), then revealing that this was the last card in my hand. And winning the flip, of course.

@ Salient
*facepalm* Someone read the card and not the Offical new text right NEXT to the card.

Flip a coin. If you win the flip, Winter Sky deals 1 damage to each creature and each player. If you lose the flip, each player draws a card.
so you DO get to call it.

What you do is put it on an Panoptic Mirror and then play Chance Encounter. In average, this will win you the game in a mere 20 turns! Assuming your opponent doesn't kill you with all the cards they're drawing, anyway.

Flip a coin. Either way, this card barely has any effect.
