it goes well with one or two relic of Progenitus...

Very nice card. It is good by itself. No combo needed. VERY NICE!

It goes with Planar Void or Leyline obviously, but this card can work pretty well on its own if you just Ritual it out first turn.

In a slow control game, this is just a monstrous little engine. It's a bit like phyrexian arena, but it's better in multiplayer (since it's target opponent).

I really like the flavor on this card. If your opponents won't/can't pay the price, you'll "grow stronger". Sure, I mean, it was probably a lot better back then, and it's not like it's Phyrexian Arena, but on the other hand, this doesn't kill you, and it just feels more "fun".
Don't run this card if your deck is loaded with removal (obviously), but it seems fairly cool if you're running a less serious black deck, perhaps aiming to end the game with Pit Lords & Liege of the Pits.

I got this card about a month or so ago for my W/B Reanimator and haven't looked back since. I like to get this into play fast using Dark Ritual and get some solid extra draw going early. To make sure opponents can't gimp my draw, I use this bad boy with four Orzhov Basilica and four Bojuka Bogs as bouncers and normally have no trouble at all keeping opponent graveyards empty.
Once this combo gets rolling, you've got yourself some silly card advantage.
Black control staple. 4/5 easily. You really don't even need to run graveyard hate for this to become a "draw three" over the course of the game, though if you do run hate, consider skipping Planar Void type shenanigans and just spam Relic of Progenitus. That way, if you don't draw into Gravestorm, you can use the Relic as a : bampf all graveyards, draw a card; it's a halfway-decent cantrip on its own. Also, a Bojuka Bog is a gravestormer's best friend. Sometimes the only graveyard interactions I run are four Gravestorm and four Bojuka Bog, and this is still a 'draw three over five or six turns' kind of card. Anyone designing a rogue Mono-Black Control deck should give this serious consideration.
Things get REALLY funny when you have more than one out.

Getting this one out first-turn with Dark Rit is brutal card advantage! o_O

Keep in mind that it's target opponent, not any opponent, so you can just keep choosing the guy with an empty graveyard or someone who's using 'yard shenanigans.
Plus, it was printed in Odyssey, which had tons of flashback, threshold, and the like. Exiling your opponent's graveyard probably would've been a decent outcome anyways then.

"creatures with power more than the number of cards in your graveyard can't attack", probably in {B}{W}
As to the card, I quite like this; may work instead of arena with a Planar Void combo. Helps eat 'Goyf food potentially.
