This card is just oozing with flavor.

Strictly worse than Wurmcalling but highly relevant with Populate.

I don't like how it is pretty much always below the mana-curve, but it seems like a good finisher in limited.

Funny pun, and a decent populatable finisher if you've got mana and nothing else to do with it.

Thanks, but I'll keep my Gelatinous Genesis.

@lorendorky - It's better in Ooze tribal!

The theme's Golgari, but it's obvious that Selesnya has more effective use for this.
I love this card for the Selesnya, since most of the token generation spells are either too cheap or too expensive (2-3 cmc or 6-7 cmc), with this card you can put tokens on for 4-5 cmc (you can also do it for more or less of course).
Perfect fit in this edition :)

Pros like me will make this ooze token very, very, big, mark my words.

Weird that it's meant for Selesnya.

So this is what Blaze looks like in green. Huh.

The flavour text sounds familiar.

I watched a guy hit 15 mana turn 6 in limited. He drafted 5 colours. He had two copies of Axebane Guardian and three other defenders. I don't think that's below curve. His opponent milled his Rakdos's Return, and was very fortunate.

Ivy Elemental that dies to bounce

Great spell. It's fun to decide if to play it as a 3/3 or wait longer. Amazing with Populate mechanic.

This card deserves WAY more than a 2.8 rating. Populating this is SICK when your 2-3 CMC instants all of a sudden drop 8/8 tokens. Although it's nowhere NEAR as powerful as Green Sun's Zenith, it's an excellent replacement for it in Standard/Modern.

@Hottychick88:
Ivy Elemental already dies to bounce - all the +1/+1 counters fall off, and it comes back as a 0/0.

I would've preferred this to be an instant. Oh well.

Now that gatecrash is rolling around, I can see this being relevant with Evolve. A nice, big critter to trigger all of your beefed up evolving creatures late game? Why, I think I will.

@Grumman: You are mistaking "bounce" for "blink." Bounce is "return to hand." Blink is "exile, then return." Bounce would not kill Ivy Elemental, as it's an actual creature card and is just returned as normal, but it would kill the Slime Token as tokens can only exist on the battlefield. Blink, however, would kill both of them.

Make a huge token, then populate it.

Use this AFTER attacking with your Wild Beastmaster to have a fat blocker. Oops, wrong card...

Give me a lever long enough and a suitable fulcrum, or I will shoot one hostage every hour.
