I like the colors being used here, he looks... not toxic but smelly and putrid.

Meh. Playing this guy for his 6 mana is out of question. That's just far too much for a 3/3. But if you discard him... though... Even then it's not great.

At its best when it's in the graveyard, sadly. Which is a shame, because the art is metal.

NOT uncommon worthy. Low draft pick worthy.
Poor Scavenge. I had SUCH high hopes.

Pros like me will discard him for the low-costed scavenge effect.

I really like this card. It has a decent 3/3 body, it has evasion. The way I play, 6 mana is never a problem, because I can delay my opponent for that long. If my opponent doesn't find a solution to the flying soon enough, they'd get mauled. If they do, I can still slap 3 +1/+1 counters onto another creature, preferably another evasive creature, for a beatdown.

like most of the other scavenging creatures. WOTC must screw him grossly in at least one way. too much mana to cast (sewer shambler), too much mana for scavenging (drudge beetle, korozda monitor), or both of them (terrus wurm for example).
in the other hand, this card can work nicely combined with jarad's orders

Don't forget that, paired with Corpsejack Menace, the +1/+1 counters are doubled.

Kickass art. One of these days, I will make an insect deck and I will toss one of these guys in there on the art alone. The card is "meh," but it looks like it would be decent in limited.

Seriously people? 1.5? Is there NO imagination!? Run in a black/white angel deck. Use the Scavenge effect to feed Herald of War and ALL your angels are 3 mana cheaper. All of them... for 4 mana.... There're plenty of red and black cards that are great fro discarding things like this to the graveyard so you don't have to summon it first. Is is grade-A awesome sauce? No. But can it have excellent potential for its scavenge effect? Hell yeah. 3.4

I think this is supposed to be compared to Isperia's Skywatch. However, Skywatch is common, and has Detain, which in my opinion, is better than Scavenge.
Whether you agree or not, you can at least agree that Detain really messes Scavenge up a lot!

1/5. A 3/3 flier for 6? Scavenge for 4? Overcosted and underpowered. The only use is to pitch to the graveyard for its scavenge cost.

Pretty sure these scavenge cards are so ridiculously priced is because of the Simic guild and all of its counter craziness. I mean seriously these two clans are like lovers.

KingRusty: How do you propose to get Herald of War in a Return to Ravnica draft deck??
I have already blocked out the idea that you COULD suggest running them both in a standard deck mentally, because that is a 2.0 star rating interaction; Kitchen table jank interaction.
You'd run Increasing Savagery if you wanted to put counters on the angel. That's even in the Innistrad Block, and is a 3.5 star interaction.
And guess what: Sigarda, Host of Herons is a good angel that is green and white, that would benefit from this.

There are no good black angels.
