Ok in limited (like all removal). Bad in constructed. Too costy, too slow, too narrow.

Anyone rating this one down hasn't read the second power this spell has. This spell isn't really about the direct damage.....

Great removal that can perform the devastating 2 for 1.

Artifact removal costs 1. 5 damage costs 3 with morbid. This card forces you to play both. Very situational and expensive for 5. Plus hexproof makes this worthless as a kill spell AND equip removal.

You can use both effects for much cheaper... I'd rather just run Galvanic Blast and Smelt.
Strangely enough, I am considering the use of this card as unexpected artifact removal in a Zedruu Chaos/Bludgeon Brawl EDH deck. Sorcery speed is a bit slow, and it's hella expensive, but for the dunce who has decided to equip all his artifact lands (mycosynth lattice says hi) for comedic effect, it's hilariously efficient.

Married men should be quite familiar with this one....

"No really! I'm already slag! Please don-"
You deal 5 damage, doggy loses armor and thumbs to carry hammer, goes back to being a 2/2, 2 - 5 = dead dog.
Tell me just how this is good?

How about a morbid Brimstone Volley with an Ancient Grudge?
Same CMC, but at instant speed.
The card advantage does not seem worth it to me.
