Well, if there ever was a guy whose gigantic appearance in the artwork didn't fit his fighting stats, it is Mountain Titan. What a pity, because I actually like this card somehow. I bet he would be 4/4 today and his ability would cost 1Red.

This guy gets really big, really fast.

Interesting. Not that exceptional, but definitely interesting.

He probably would be a 4/4; compare him to Brion Stoutarm. You know what guys, I'm beginning to think that WotC might be making creatures a lot stronger recently...

@ holgir: I'm inclined to disagree, 'cause Roil Elemental.

I like the idea of using his ability several times in one turn somehow, then playing a bunch of "little black bastards"

Sad by today's standards, and rather questionable even back when it was printed. It requires a lot of effort to get this thing up to "useful" for its casting cost, and even then it dies to everything... even bounce effects will reduce it back to being a laughably small creature. Perhaps if it had only been able to gain a single +1/+1 counter per turn when you cast a black spell, but there was no cost to activating the ability, it might have been useful. As is... well, Giants have come a long way.

Awesome in combo with Yawgmoth's Will!!

Oh, wait, you will have won anyhow, no need for this dude.

Forget it.

This guy should be taught in Economics 101 as an example of "opportunity cost". After you're done burning a bunch of mana and chump spells to make him merely mediocre, think of all the cool stuff you could've had instead.

Ugh. One of the biggest flavor fails ever. I love the painter's personal crest/stamp in the corner distracting you from the artwork as well.
