Compares poorly to Primal Huntbeast, but at least it's a good recipient of scavenged +1/+1 counters. Hexproof is never a bad thing.

Pros like me prefer to have our creatures with hexproof for obvious reasons. We don't need hexproof because we are pros, but it is just a nice bonus.

In limited this will be an excellent scavenge target for Golgari (or selesnya splashing green scavenge), though to make it really over the top you'll need trample as well. In color there is Chorus of Might, but if you've got white there is Selesnya Charm, and if you're in Jund you could use Deviant Glee.

I seethe with rage whenever I see a creature with Hexproof that could just as easily have had Shroud. It's the dumbing down of Magic. Thankfully--THANKFULLY!--WotC has heard our cries, as witnessed by the overwhelming LACK of Hexproof creatures in RTR. Hopefully this trend continues.

Casting cost too high for the stats and abilities -> ok in limited, garbage in constructed.

The only hexproof card in the set. Shame there's so many enchantments running around.

I'd rather have Primal Huntbeast than this guy, and I'd rather not have Primal Huntbeast. Oh well. At least Hexproof makes him semi-playable in Limited. 1.5/5

I appreciate it when Wizards polishes up their mediocre cards with great flavor text...

Love the flavor text on this card. Gambling is always a good thing.

I think you guys are rating this poor rhino too harshly!

I agree, Primal Huntbeast is preferable, the extra 1 in the mana cost is worth at least a +1/+1 boost, (or maybe his cost should have been 2GreenGreen), but this guy would look pretty good if the Huntbeast were not around.

Hexproof creatures are at their strongest in aura decks, and this guy fits nicely next to Sacred Wolf. You can't cast him until later in the game, but the added toughness means he'll survive a chump block or a Pyroclasm if you can't enchant him right away. Granted, as soon as you throw a couple of umbras on these guys the difference in toughness is marginal.

The flavor is also pretty amusing, a Rhino crashing through your market stall? Just an average day on Ravnica! Right up there with with Tenement Crasher for silly beats running rampant through the city. No clue why that makes him hexproof, but I guess that street urchin never managed to actually target its back.

So all in all, his biggest drawback is the fact that Primal Huntbeast is almost always the better option (and they're both in standard). Not a bad common in limited though, a decent (if expensive) body that will prove its worth once it hits the table.
3/5 (I like the artwork too)

That 4th point of toughness made all the difference in RTR limited. Golgari needed this guy.
