Also, that demon just turned into money. Who doesn't like that?

This is mean and would work well with other x effects like Syncopate stacked on top.

I can see this being really annoying in stall decks. They either pay the cost and slow down their plays, or sacrifice their expensive permanent. And if you're backing it up with fog effects anyways, it seems like a win/win.

As a stall player I like this kind of cards. Also like that upkeep is BEFORE drawstep so if someone by misstake draws a card before paying the cost... Bye bye Permanent (and I am sure alot of players will do that missplay) It is a card that punishes you for not knowing all the rules, me like it!

Wonderful imagery. God knows this would be an Orzhov card if the guild were in this set.

Auramancer's gonna love this. This gives me a reason to play that card, the lady on that artwork is so elegant. And with this enchantment she's gonna be rich (look at that art :P).

This is a very good removal aura. Nobody is going to pay that much mana to save their permanent. Not every turn. I know this because I happen to be a pro.

This is an awesome card! If only instead of destroying the card it put it back on top of the owners library, and put soul tithe back in your hand.... Well, all cards can't be Rancor I guess. Definitely playing a set of these alone trip Oblivion Ring, and possibly 1-2 Detention Sphere. What they find important enough to keep I won't give them on option on later. :

Why wouldn't they just allow me to cast it on lands? Obviously it wouldn't cause any harm on my opponent, but why should they add a restriction because of that? I don't think enchantments or at least artifacts have more soul than lands. Especially 0cc artifacts. Being able to cast it on lands wouldn't have hurt - except for some dumb players casting this on a land, maybe). (And to some extent it would have fitted the Return to Ravnica's enchant land theme).
Why am i so eager about this, you ask? Well for one, "Enchant permanent" would have looked prettier :D Also, there are some narrow situations where casting this on your own lands so you could sacrifice them in your next upkeep can make a difference. This can be the case if you profit from the land in your graveyard (Riftstone Portal, Knight of the Reliquary), or the land is otherwise disadvantageous while in play (Rivalry).

...White destruction.
That alone is selling me, because I have yet to see an enchantment that so thoroughly obliterates decks.
@MojoVince Look again, this is better than Pendrell Flux.
It hits any nonland permanent.
There's very few situations where paying the mana will benefit you in the long run. Maybe if you have nothing better to play, but with any decent mana curve, will you ever have nothing better to play?
That makes this essentially nigh-universal removal in White for TWO mana, plus dodges regenerate and indestructable.
Personally, I think that's nuts.

How is this rated lower than Pendrell Flux when this clearly is better?! It give you the option of enchanting not only a creature, but anything that isn't a land (which don't have mana costs to begin with). The trade off is the strict color of the mana cost for the ability to put it on pretty much anything. Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker giving you a headache? Now your opponent has to pay 8 mana per turn to keep him alive. Eldrazi bothering you? The cost just went up. In limited, this thing is a nightmare too. It'll ruin your opponent's tempo and lock down his/her lands for several turns or it'll bury a pesky enchantment that's stopping your creature or destroy your opponents creature, which ruins their tempo in another way, regardless.

You have to realize this card essentially says "Target non-land permanent is sacrificed at the beginning of its controllers next upkeep"
Most of the time players would rather choose sacrificing their guy rather than fall behind turns in mana production. Sure there are cards that do this much better but how many of them are in white?

4 out of 5. A great way to lock down an opponent's mana base. It forces them to decide if they will keep their bomb or save mana for other things. Soul Tithe ques you into what an opponent's strategy will be by how they decide to interact with it.

I think it's funny that lands are the only thing this can't target, seeing as they have a CMC of 0 and as such would be at the bottom of the targeting list. Still would be cool for some obscure land tax combo though but I guess that doors closed. :P

i could see where this would be useful in a graveyard pick up that your opponent is not able to keep pay the upkeep on.
