strictly worse than search for tomorrow

DaaNz... no.
If you don't plan to sacrifice a creature, yes, there are many better cards. For getting one untapped land Seach for tomorrow is better. For the same CMC, same potential number of lands, Kodama's Reach is better. But if you're willing to spill some blood (say, in a token-based deck), you're getting two untapped lands. Great boost!
It definetely has a home, you just need some will to find it.

Having a Bloodghast to sacrifice to this is nice. Two lands come into play untapped and your keep your creature.

It should also be noted that this is a strictly better version of oldschool Untamed Wilds.
Interesting artwork too regarding the plants sprouting out of the pipes, although i can't quite see there how saccing is related to that.

@DaaNz

totally no.. search for tomorrow only nets you one land. this spell nets you 2 if you sacrifice a creature, in which case there are wonderful creatures begging to be sacced.

for example, if you have fecundity out, you get to draw a card.

Great if you're running a couple Khalni Gardens.
I use it in my Dragon Appeasement deck.

I mean, as far as I'm concerned, it's like an extra-attractive Harrow if you have any tokens to slap around.

Sacrifice a Perilous Myr second main phase after swinging. Myr gets in 1 point of damage and then turns into a free shock.

Add Veteran Explorer to this kicker.... hmmm ... 4 untapped lands added to the turn... not to mention anything landfall might be worth taking a look at...

No one seems have mentioned the (second) easiest abuse with this card, so I think I will.

Sacrifice this to a Viridian Emissary. Veteran explorer is sweet, but it also helps out the other guy(s) at the table. While that may net you some 'I won't hate on you' points for a few turns, the potential drawback in case some *** is playing something silly (like infinite myr (especially now a days..)) is pretty high. Besides, I'm a greedy guy, I don't want to share my glorious land fetching, do you?

A personal favorite I've been wanting to try as gone something like this, keep in mind the deck revolves around playing out the forests as quickly as possible for Avenger of Zendikar and Howl of the night pack.

Turn 1: Forest and arbor elf(2 lands, effectively)
Turn 2: Tap and untap a forest for a Khalni heart expedition, forest and play Krosan warfarer sac it into another forest. (Keep in mind you now have 4 forests)

Turn 3: Forest, Viridian Emissary, play out this, sac the emissary to it. Pop your expedition for the lulz whenever. You now have 10 lands on turn 3, 11 if you have a nature's lore available to you.

This is obviously never happen unless you're stupid lucky, but isn't the fun of commenting on cards all about hypothetical scenarios anyway? Oh, and that entire time you've had a fog or some such nonsense in your hand.

I suppose you could hold off on the expedition, play the avenger you've had(instead of the fog) and then pop it while you play your basic land.. 8-9 nice meaty 3/4 plants and a beefy 5/5 all on turn 4..

..Then the other guy wraths and you flip the table.

Try it with Viridian Emissary. Make the drawback a bonus!

Turn 1: Drop Forest, Llanowar Elves.

Turn 2: Tap Forest, Elves, drop Khalni Heart Expedition. Drop Forest, put counter on Expedition, play another Llanowar Elves.

Turn 3: Drop Forest. Tap both Llanowar Elves to play Viridian Emissary. Tap three Forests to play Primal Growth, sacrificing the Emissary. Put three lands into play. Put two counters on Expedition. Crack it and put two more lands into play.

Turn 4: 10 mana available. Drop hideous bomb(s) of your choice.

Me gusta.

This would do well in an undying deck with cards like Young Wolf or Undying Evil

Sac Gamekeeper for the kicker. There's nothing like a free Thorn Elemental.

It would be pretty rad to sacrifice a Seedguide Ash to this, then remove him with Everbark Shaman. See what pulling 7 lands out can do for you!
