Ah, yes, the Urza's Legacy Erase. Already better than Demystify.
The art looks like it came out of Time Spiral block...

Erase (Not the Urza's Legacy One (Not the Unhinged One))

It's the Urza's Legacy one!

That's a nice Rancor you got there. I'd be a shame if something would happen to it.

Jake1991 I don't believe you're old enough to know about Rancor. If you were, you'd be making "Not the Urza's Legacy One" jokes like everyone else!

You know things are wacky when they're reprinting stuff out of Urza's block.

This was needed instead of demystify due to some very powerful enchantments in standard right now.

Funnily enough, this is technically Erase (Not the Urza's Legacy one) mark 2 as it is the m13 version. It has different art and flavor text, which the silver bordered sets care about.

A much needed counter to Rancor shenanigans in standard. A great card overall, since it hits other relevant enchantments as well, all at the cheap price of 1 white, and at instant speed no less. I kind of wish they had kept the old art though.

Am I the only one who thinks this art is exactly like Doom Blade?

Exile target Rancor.

I think that Wizards has learned from their mistake of putting hosers to powerful cards or strategies in the following sets after those cards or strategies ruins Standard, and so they printed this so Rancor wouldn't run rampant.

Yes, Forest + Rancor is a strategy.

Note how the art on this version is the external view of the castle in the original printing. Pretty cool.

Derp... I'm confused by the ruling...

Seriously, even new players know 'exile' has nothing to do with putting something in a graveyard.

I love all the Urza block reprints in M13, especially this and Rancor. There was just no way in hell they would reprint Rancor without a way to get rid of it, so I'm glad they took the most obvious option. Plus with all the curses from Innistrad, this becomes all the better.

@tachiKC I'm not super sure about keeping the old artwork, but I agree with the spirit of your suggestion. This might be the most generic looking castle I have I ever seen on a Magic card.

EDIT: Yeah, art complaints are kind of a downer to read. How's about this: now Modern has Erase! Ahh, we have fun here.

I assume the ruling is in regards to how it interacts with cards like Leyline of the Void. It's a poorly worded ruling.

Best 1 drop "remove enchantment from game" card =D

And Erase comes to the core set. FINALLY. YAY!

This was LONG overdue. Ever since Color Pie came into play and Disenchant was shifted into Naturalize, actually. White was stripped of the bulk of its ability to handle artifacts, which was odd but not unjustifiable. The problem was, White was given Demystify as a replacement. Even at 1CMC, "destroy target enchantment" is overcosted.

Frankly, this is a lot more reasonable for the cost. It also takes the sting out of White's inability to handle both artifacts and enchantments: sure, Green can get both, but White can do the one REALLY permanently. Oh, and it seems a bit more flavor-appropriate to boot.

Anyway, I wholeheartedly approve of this, even without considering the reintroduction of Rancor. I hope Erase stays the baseline White enchantment removal spell for a long time.

Glad this is back to hose rancor. But Demystify sadly just got outclassed for modern/extended sideboard. They both 5 cent cards...

If it weren't for everyone's comment about Rancor, I wouldn't understand why this doesn't just destroy target Enchantment.

Maybe they thought the Modern metagame needed a second Demystify? Maybe they think that there needs to be one, since Rancor's been reprinted.

On that note, why was Rancor reprinted? Kind of silly to me...

I don't know, clutchcrusher, does Liliana's Shade look like an enchantment to you?

I really love the new art. It's kind of amazing the feelings artists can evoke simply by drawing pictures. Panning, I'm seeing Innistrad to Lorwyn back to Innistrad.

Now it doesn't matter that Theros god cards have indestructible. Cheap instant removal.

We can safely call this... Anti-God.

With the Theros gods this card automatically got better.

This should've been reprinted in M14 to deal with the gods in Standard. Too few ways to get rid of the gods now.

Theros came as close as possible to turning this into Swords to Plowshares.

A 4-of in my mono white human deck since my friend started playing the new God cards. Especially since my insanely lucky and well funded friend started running 4 Mogis, God of Slaughter in his B/R aggro deck.
