I wished that they kept the Avycen art :(

Didn't.. umm.. didn't we just have this? Like, in the LAST FREAKING SET? Sometimes it boggles the mind trying to figure out what WotC is thinking.

This card is as awful as ever and not even playable in limited. Getting this in a booster is like having one card less in your booster. 0.5

Boring and bad. They are trying to hard to make good and bad cards.

Oh hey, it's been three months! We need to see this again.

I understand why they want vanilla life gain in the core set, but this is bad even for vanilla life gain. If it had cost one less it would at least be on a curve with Healing Salve and Soothing Balm/Whitesun's Passage. None of which are considered good cards, but are still far more efficient than this.

It's bad. It's not amazingly bad, though. The effect makes sense.

Wizards may be trolling specifically because of the amount of people that hate on this card. Almost reminiscent of Cancel
Fenix.

I think Hayne siding one of these in his PT winning block constructed Miracles deck made wotc think this is actually good..

HA! HAHAHAHAHA!

All I can say is Heroes' Reunion

@timmyforever Well, they needed to print something. If they only printed cards you'd approve of, we'd probably have skipped straight to M14.

Well there is Rhox Faithmender in standard now which would certainly make the cost/benefit ratio much more appealing. Straight lifegain has to be in larger numbers to be usable anyway.

This thing has been in 3 of the last 5 sets. I've still yet to see it played. There are other bad cards to reprint.

Reprint Essence Sliver instead.

It is pretty bad. It just provides so little advantage for the cost. It is just under 2 life per mana, which is passable kinda. Would be better for 4 mana, 8 life, nice round number and even then it is mostly unplayable.

Cutting it to 3 mana would make it draftable even, if barely.

Sometimes I think that WotC thinks that their player base is:
a) suffering from some serious Alzheimer
and/or
b) too retarded to see that this card saw a reprint 3 months after AVR AGAIN!

Why do people hate this card? Not the best but not the worst either, in fact many times useful.

I am a pro and use this card in my championship decks because nobody expects it. 7 health instant speeds has won me many national championships in standard. Not good enough for legacy, though.

@VirusVescichetta: M13 and innistrad both rotate out in October 2013.

lol, Return to Ravnica is reprinting Heroes' Reunion...GreenWhite Gain 7 Life, instant. So much better...look at how terrible this card is...

@Lotsofpoopy
I'm calling bullshit. And stop going around saying you're a "pro".

Anyone else find it weird that this technically cycles out of standard BEFORE the Avacyn Restored version despite being printed later?

Edit: @adrian.malacoda: You make a fine point.

For 4 mana, I personally think this should give you somewhere around 10 life. But that's just me.
I'd much rather they reprint Healing Salve or Rest for the Weary. Neither are amazing, but they certainly seem so when compared to this piece of garbage.

That being said, Rest for the Weary is actually pretty efficient for vanilla life gain. This is not at all.

I hate draft fillers, with a passion. Stop being cowards and increase the power level of your junk cards!!! Nobody likes to see terrible cards, but you make them every set!

Obviously there has to be "the strongest", and "the weakest", but you dont even try to balance the weak cards!! Its like a slap in the face!!

"Hahaaaa, have a hill giant, or a razor boomerang, or even a mindless null. You payed 4 dollars for that booster, remember?"

You pretend that junk garbage somehow "slows down powercreep", but even urza and mirrodin had its junk cards.. THE BLOCK DIDNT GET SLOWED DOWN.....

The weakest cards don't define powercreep, the strongest ones do. So tone down the stronger end, and give the weaker end a buff. Nobody wants too see unplayable trashshit in there booster packs you noobass developers.

This is the worst card ever that Lotsofpoopy has commented on, according to ratings.

When my friends and I are playing casually, I hate this card because it boosts their life total when I have them within a searing spear of killing them.

I would argue Rest for the Weary is better, since the lower CMC of {1}{W} greatly increases how easy it is to play when instants are best played - on other players turns (for example, casting it at the end of an opponent's turn after sacrificing a Terramorphic Expanse to trigger landfall)

my brother hates this card when i play it and hates it more when i use Cancel or Mindstatic when he plays it.
I definitely think this card is a little OP for casual play, but whatever it takes to win!

This is the card to play if you want to lose the respect of your children and your wife.
