I think that card will have amazing potential. It reminds me of Steel Overseer.

Great target for Trinket Mage.

I don't even care if I'm wrong, I love this card.

Proliferate, Graft, loads of fun to be had. Flavorfully, this is a clockwork creature that you get to crank up!

Has good potential. if you only have a 2CC (or nothing) for turn 3, it let's you use that extra mana. Has a bit more potential on early defense (i.e. block, tap to buff, kill other feature). I like it! I think it could do well in draft!

what is this? a clock man?

It's a cute card, but the activation cost kills it.

In the late game, it's too tiny and too slow. In the early game, this is bad too, because it acts as a stone rain on yourself, in trade for a creature with defender (if you want it to grow).

it's a colorless 1/1 for 1. if that is somehow not good enough, then this game has been so PowerCreeped they might as well reprint anything that's not Reserved. Go ahead, let's bring back Necropotence while we're at it, JUST for lulz. :P

A 1/1 for 1 is decent in Constructed, and outstanding in Limited. I'm not saying its back-breaking board advantage or anything, but it is actually aggressive.

This card isn't supposed to be some super fast super powered aggression (it's not). Think of it as similar to Slumbering Dragon, except this card can attack/block in a pinch, albeit interupting its growth. Spend your unused mana on it (if any), but don't go out of your way to beef it up. Not a bad investment at all for 1, especially if it gets big enough to warrant a removal.
Won't see play in competetive decks, but a solid little card nonetheless.

This card has a very creepy Uncharted Realms story behind it.

Seriously, check it out if you can.

After reading the Uncharted Realms short story about this guy, I'll never look at him the same way again. I'd criticize him, but I'm worried he'll come to my house at night and kill me if I do.

Check out that column, since the revamp it's actually amazing.

where on the card did it say it was destroying anything? i dont think that you actually read the card. and where are you getting defender from? he's awesome.

"where on the card did it say it was destroying anything? i dont think that you actually read the card. and where are you getting defender from? he's awesome." bluntshark

He's referring to the fact that if you want it to grow into anything worthwhile, you have to use up a land on it every turn. Thus it's like a stone rain because to get the most out of it properly, you have to throw away one mana every turn to it. The defender bit is referring to the fact that to continue growing it you also have to not attack with it so for a while you can only use it as a blocker.

I don't agree with that completely. True it eats up mana but it's a blocker that will always be ahead of the curve. Barring haste creatures, more often than not, when a 2/2 would be attacking you, it's a 3/3, when a 3/3, it's a 4/4, etc. And you may use it defensively for a while but it is not forced to be defender. You can attack with it when you're ready. And losing one mana isn't a big deal in my opinion. You can build a deck around lower CMC cards and you won't be losing much. Most kill spells are pretty low mana, though we're also losing them in standard.

Yes, it eats a mana, but it is colorless and there is nothing to say you have to use that mana during your turn or at all. So, it's a one colorless mana 1/1 creature with lots of upside potential. Activate the ability durting your opponent's end step with any open mana you happen to have. He's a Golem too. So Blade Splicer will give him first strike. Not like that's being used in any decks at the moment. Love the backstory, the flavor and the art. It's not a powerhouse, but it will find a home in some Standard decks for sure, especially until the Scars of Mirrodin block rotates.

Surprisingly playable. Declare as a blocker, then activate. Give it vigilance and you're laughing.

Hmm, this might be a good card for the coming Ravnica block. If there are some +1/+1 counter manipulation in it, which is highly possible if you guys remember the graft mechanic of the Simic guild.
I guess time will tell.

This guy is great in M13 sealed and draft, where there isn't a lot of stable removal. He's especially nice because of all the exalted creatures in the format. He can stay behind and defend with his activated ability and buff himself up while creatures like Aven Squire go on the offensive.

This guy always seems quick to show up when I use him. It's a fun grower that takes care of extra mana and can attack in a pinch.

If you guys are pros like me and invest your mana right in this creature, than you will have a creature that is always one step ahead of the curve.

You don't have to use the ability every turn. Just keep it around, and at the end of your opponent's turn, if you have a mana to spare, pump him. I mean, surely you don't always use every single drop of your mana, do you?

Combine this card with Burst of Strength
Chronomaton
tap 1cmc = 1 counter
Play Burst of Strength on Chronomaton (1cmc)= Put 1 counter on and untap
Tap again for 1cmc= another counter

Converts three mana into 3 counters when Chronomaton is already on the field.

Great to pump up and then use Bioshift!

After you run out of artifacts, it functions with a pair of Pili-Pala as:

The earliest drop creature that grants itself counters. I'm currently running him alongside Vorel and he gets big, fast. Be wary of doom blades and keep Simic Charms handy!

Wait wait wait. Im trying to absorb the story here. So to avoid dying from a plague, a clockmaker makes a robot body and installs his arm and his head inside. But then he loses control and it kills him and finishes itself. Okay, so this is a wind up type of machine? Can someone explain the story to me a bit more? I'm kind of lost. The art seems to have something inside the abdomen that the key controls. What is it?

Its a nice little card to spend your spare mana on, and he can be extremely useful in artifact, golem, or simic decks.

Heck he's actually pretty useful in Dimir. Wind him up with a ciphered Hidden Strings on an unblockable creature and watch him go.
