Glad they are reprinting these, so a new crop of players can experience common dual lands. Plus, enemy-colour duals are rare.

if i didnt have to remove a land, AND put this into play tapped itd be a solid dual land card. but, it seems too counter productive than helpful. when you consider having 1 land over your opponent can make all the difference, this sets you 2 lands behind for a turn.

Great synergy with Explore in B/G aggro-control.

Actually Conker, it only sets you one land behind the turn you play it because you can still tap the land being returned for mana.

Well, let's see why this should be rated higher.

Turn one, Forest. Elves of Deep Shadow .
Turn two, tap the forest and the elf to get: Putrid Leech , Woodlurker Mimic , or even Skullbriar, the Walking Grave .
-THEN- play the rot farm and bounce your first forest. Congratulations, the possibilities for your turn three drop have now tripled.

And that's just sticking to black/green. I don't want to bother looking through what you could do if you dropped a Llanowar Elves to start instead...

Conker: you do take a risk dropping this land into play, but you also don't really fall behind because it taps for two mana. These "Karoo" lands are amazing in landfall decks.

Besides all the other comments defending how good the Karoos actually are, let us not forget things that untap lands, like Garruk. So you tap two basics, untap them with garruk, and tap them again for 4. OK, I will tap two karoos, untap them, tap again and have 8. just play these play these lands 2nd main phase, and you're golden. Also landfall shananigans, things like Halimar depths, a lot of good reasons to play these guys.

Fun with Gemstone Mine, Scry Lands, and other such nonsense.

Actually in EDH this plus a scry land is a pretty awesome start. As long as noone is playing Edric or Sol Rings.
