If you look at this card and only see a drawback, you'd probably downrate your hammer for not being a screwdriver.

Good for 'When this comes into play/enters the battlefield' creatures.

Even though his ability isn't a drawback, he's still overcosted. I'm giving him a 3, because I don't expect much from commons, and he lets you recycle, but he really should have been 4U

Yea the card's ability can be made advantageous, but in general it's a drawback on a 4/5 for 6 mana. You could probably make an O.K. limited deck with this guy having a role, but I wouldn't try it.
I'd say that it's a build around card that doesn't deserve to be built around.

The only reason why i would want to play this guy when he's not in a single-creature-deck like the starter deck is so that I can play 'When this creature enters the battlefield' creatures, but I still think that it's a bit overcosted.

I wish more zombies had etb abilities worth playing. I like Gravedigger, but he's just so expensive. Screeching Skaab for self-mill? Reset Geralf's Messenger (or, I guess, given the budget-ness of this card, Butcher Ghoul)?

Even in blue, six mana is too much for a 4/5...

We think this card made us throw up in our mouths a little bit. Non-optional return-to-hand effects are cool. 6 mana 4/5s are not. Cards like this should be costed as if the effect is a drawback (but not too crazily undercosted!), like Stampeding Serow. That way you're encouraged to take advantage of its ability rather than punished for doing so. Roaring Primadox is acceptable.

Sure, its a bit overcosted, but the price is pretty easy to deal with in a Green/Blue deck.

Timberland Guide is good, since its cheap and the effect is stack-able.

I just find it amusing that he has anti-synergy with his fellow skaabs.

Hey, this is not quite so bad. True, some may consider Havengul Skaab somewhat over-costed, but in my opinion its ability makes up for the mana loss. Set up a cycle of Armored Skaabs, and the Havengul doubles its worth relating to mana-cost.
