Ugh, Castle but...more flavorful, I guess. Hard to imagine a castle as an enchantment, anyway.

Castle was a sweet card. This card... is the same card, but doesn't have the same imagery.
Putting your creatures in a castle is the best thing ever. "blessing your walls" doesn't quite have the same flavor.

Combo with tokens and Intangible Virtue to deal with burn.

Castle easily wins for having Shakesper flavor text, no contest.

It's nice to see that they made a functional reprint of, and shout-out to Castle with a more fixed flavor.
But since Castle had been there since Alpha and kept until 7th Edition, you can already assume that it wouldn't hurt to make this a strictly better card instead...

This set has enough white creatures with Vigilance (not to mention Bruna), that this card becomes a permanent bonus if you manage to draft enough of those. Not game-breaking, but can provide a nice addition for your attack force.

The name reminds me the hammerites from thief, and their devotion to the master builder.

@Tiggurix. Tons? 12 out of 229 cards in this set are reprints. I don't think that would qualify as "tons".

Why couldn't they have simply reprinted castle? They already reprinted tonnes of other cards in this set without renaming them, so why not? On the other hand, if you should wish to, this does effectively allow one to have eight Castles in a single deck. Finally, it's interesting to note that this was printed functionally different from Castle; originally, Castle didn't allow creatures to gain its benefit when they were attacking, whereas this card already does that. Nonetheless, this seems like an unnecessary card to me, all in all. Nice illustration, at least, which, yet again, they could have simply used on a reprinted Castle.

@Speednat: It's still much more than is usual for noncore sets.

This was their chance to reprint it as 1WhiteWhite version. It's important not to waste the cmc4 "winning card slot" with support cards.

"Why, hello there my good card. What are you doing out of Bant?"
Am I the only one to think that?

This would be a nice thing to have in an Exalted deck. :)

When this first came out I was pretty underwhelmed by the slightly buffed castle. However, as I look into exalt decks and see people running mutilate and bonfire, I'm actually thinking this card might be pretty solid with all those low toughness exalt creatures.

With the Exalted mechanic returning in M13 this card just became useful. Chances are you will have an "army" of creatures with the mechanic that won't be tapping allowing them them to stay back for defense. You could leave them all as is or you can give them a little extra edge with this. Quite frankly they are already doing a lot of work w/ Exalted might as well give them a little extra mileage so that maybe while blocking your opponent can't whittle down your total bonus.

Also, in W/B Exalted, Ring of Thune provides Vigilance to whichever creatures its attached to, regardless of color. That means your single Exalted attacker can gain the +0/+2 bonus as well making them a little more sturdy (if that happens to be a Servant of Nefarox you could use it). If that happens to be an Aven Squire or a Knight of Glory they get additional +1/+1 counters each upkeep making them even more formidable.

Does this card suck on its own? Yes. Is it hard to find it a proper home? Sure. But like all cards in Magic (at least in my opinion) once you have found its home it goes from a 1/2 star card to a 3/4 star card.

Good synergy with exalted, letting the weaker creatures that are only there for the exalted mechanic get a bit of a boost.

Would be better if it were 2w and a colorless

Works well with vigilance builds. Lotta people are mixed on vigilance, but it's great to have a creature that can attack and block each turn, especially when it gets +0/2 just sitting there. Even better if they have first strike.

I didn't noticed this card. Actually, I think Castle has a much better flavour: if a creature is inside the castle (i.e.: untapped and ready to defend), it gets the bonus; if a creature is outside the castle (i.e.: is attacking therefore tapped), don't get the bonus. So simple, so intuitive...
I don't say that this card hasn't flavour, only that its idea is much more convoluted than Castle's one...
