Mulldrifter is better. Gryffs look awesome though.

This could would have been fine if it drew 2 cards... + 1 power for giving up evoke is a decent trade, although still in favour of evoke. Giving up a card as well as Evoke is just bad. Mulldrifter was a fun common card that defined formats but wasn't broken or overpowered - I wish they would have printed this card closer to its power level.

I agree with Joseph. The Planewalker's guide made Gryffs seem like a huge deal. The cards...don't.

Honestly, I think Muldrifter was a little over-powered. I mean, it's really really good. And common! This doesn't compare favorably, but I'm still happy to have the three power in the air that I can flicker for profit.

The flicker synergy is why it costs so much. It has very useful combo potential in this set:cloudshift, Restoration Angel, Nephalia Smuggler,Ghostly Flicker, Deadeye Navigator . If it costed any less it would be downright abusable, plus the 3 attack and evasiveness help to justify it.

If it was cheaper, smaller, and had flash it would be a great pick for blue "end of your turn" fun, but it is unplayable outside of limited.

Good with the few blink cards that have suddenly appeared, conjurer's closet being an obvious one. Too expensive to set up most of the time though, 4 CMC would have been good, but 5 seems too much.

Sadly at 5 mana, it's competing with way more powerful etb 5 drops like Thragtusk. If it costed 4 I'd probably play it. If it were 2/2 and costed 3, I'd definitely play it.
