One of my favorite commons in the set. How can you not love a 1/1 for 1 that can pump another creature when the 1/1 isn't cutting it.

The most efficient body of the living weapons. Also an interesting Polymorph sacrifice.

This guy craps all those various crappy 1/1 for 1s ever released.

LOL, Metroid Prime 2

This card seems good for infect decks. Play this turn 1 and later equip it to something else to beef it up.

I'm just loving the idea of using this and Trinket Mage in the same sealed pool.

Living weapon is like modular with attitude... and germs.

Very well balanced.

Comes out turn one, giving you a creature to swing next turn. Also, hitting a land drop on the second run doesn't let you power out a 1 drop again and equip it; barring {0} cards, of course, which is the joy of this card working around supposed limitations.

Makes you think a bit, but also doesn't put you grossly ahead of the curve right away without any work on your part. I predict fair usage in Limited, though I guess we'll see when the Prerelease hits.

Look at the little germ riding around in that Flayer Husk like it's a little car.
You can't be mad at it! It's freakin' adorable!

It has a feeling like Reinforce 1, but with the option to play the creature as well... oh and you can move the reinforce counters around. Good solid 1 drop. Almost like Mosquito guard minus first strike.

Look, it's a balanced version of Arcbound Worker!

I really like this card with metalcraft. No one wants to destroy it.

I like ripping the germ out and throwing it on a Flesh-Eater Imp or a Tine Shrike :D

This card is very underrated! It's a dude that after it dies you can pump another dude. I run him in my Equipment deck! Never underpreforms!

"It's Spike Drone, except for the color requirement, Flayer Husk is exactly the same card. "
Not really. Once the Spkie Drone gives its counter away, that target can be bolted and the counter is lost. With the Husk, you can re-equip to something else.

Also, this thing is a really good early drop in a Warp World deck, as it gives you two permanents in one card. It also works well in a Mass Polymorph deck, since you get the little germ out there to sacrifice, but if you reveal a Flayer Husk during resolution, you get to skip it and get one of the big awesome dudes you put in.

Flayer Husk is strictly better than Spike Drone.

I fail completely to understand why this is good. I would never ever consider running this. I would much rather run either Darksteel Axe or Chatter of the Squirrel/Simic Initiate (if the fact that it costs bothers you, IT'S CALLED A FOREST. LEARN TO PLAY THEM.)
I don't think, outside of Polymorph, I could ever see a situation where a 1/1 with no abilities that leaves behind measly +1/+1 boost for 2 would be effective. I would rather see this card cost {2} to play and 1 to equip, then I'd tell you it's good. Maybe give it an extra +0/+1 or something?
I dunno. I'd never run this over any given equipment or 1/1 for 1. That 2 to equip for +1/+1 just isn't worth it.

Why would I run this? I am experimenting with a metalcraft/token deck. This card is perfect for it. Intangible Virtue makes it a 2/2 for 1, with vigilance to boot. When it goes down, I still have something to slap on another token, usually for a 3/3. There is a lot of value here.

Gives you an easy way to trigger Morbid. Cast this turn one, and from there you'll always be able to equip the husk, killing the germ and getting morbid for "free". Perfect card.

Living weapons plus Master Transmuter are cool cause you can just throw them at the opponent. and when they die you bounce them and they come right back

It's a 1/1 for 1 that functionally recurs for 2. Yeah, you have to staple it to a creature, but a the same time, you can staple it to a creature! First Strike, Infect, and any sort of evasion loves this little guy!

I know it'd break the card, but this should have intimidate. I don't know about you, but if someone picked this thing up and started waving it at me, I'd be intimidated as all get out

It's Spike Drone, except for the color requirement, Flayer Husk is exactly the same card.

Additional thoughts:
Ok, it' not identical to Spike Drone, that was certainly an overstatement on my part. It functions in a very similar manner in many situations, especially in limited.

@PeabodyET
Your first two paragraphs make well-reasoned points in favor of Flayer Husk, then you make a completely unfounded and blatantly wrong statement. "Strictly better" means better regardless of anything else going on in the game. Spike Drone can provide its counter at instant speed, while the husk uses Equip, at sorcery speed. Though the husk is definitely superior when combined with the cards you mentioned, I can easily say similar things about Doubling Season. Neither card can be called "strictly better" than the other.

Scrabbling Claws got a face and became animated! I'm so happy for it.

Seriously, look at the thumbs of each if you don't believe me. Scrabbling Claws finally got the day in the sun that it deserved.
