let me be the first to say it would be a good common but having it take up a uncommon spot more than once (let alone however many times) is annoying, and it goes for the whole cycle 0.5/5

I don't want to believe this is that bad in limited. It typically yields 5-10 life throughout the game, which isn't a bad bargain for 2 mana. But it wasn't doing me any favors in draft tonight and I took it out after people made fun of me for it. I agree, if it can't help win games in a mono white limited deck it has no hope.

Yeah, I really want to like these things. But they just do nothing. They should either cost 1 and give you 2 life per spell, or stay at one life, but cost 0, thus helping out with all the artifact drop type stuff, a-la darksteel relic, not indestructable, but at least it does something.
Yeah I think a zero-drop for these is fair. The only one of these I use is in an old legacy Dragon deck of mine, just for the flavor.

I'm actually glad it's uncommon. Less of a chance that I'll get one hahaha.

Its funny to see the overall rating of this cycle drop from M10 to now.

Angel's feather could REALLY use some new artwork. I Always thought the metallic Mirrodin angels looked dumb. Like some mecha angel out of Yugioh. This artwork needs to depict a real feather off a real angel.

Okay, look. I'm normally a huge fan of what seems to be Wizards thing now of putting one laughably bad card in each set (i.e. Razor Boomerang, Defensive Stance, etc.) It adds an element of humor to the game that can be lacking when people are busy gouging at each other with overpowered giants, mind sculptors and whatnot.
But five horrible cards? Again? I don't like to complain, but in all seriousness I would rather the creepy hobo guy in the park jab me with a mysterious syringe than see these cards again.
You don't have to reprint Lightning Bolt, Wizards. You don't have to make some crazy over-the-top planeswalker that shoots zombies and Lava Axes at people. I get that not every card has to be excellent. But no more of these in M13. Please?

I know it ruffles some people's feathers to see this cycle reprinted, but I'm always tickled to see them again. If you're a new player, it'll be a feather in your cap once you outgrow these cards.

I don't mind that they print these. They say new players like them and I've seen that first hand. My problem with them is that they are uncommon and I really don't think they should be. At the very least try common next core set cause odds are these will still be around in M13.

New players like this cycle of crap cards? ..Ok....Sure.
How about replace this cycle with another similar cycle...but that DOESN'T COMPLETELY BLOW?
How about getting new players to like cards that won't put them at a total disadvantage?

These are nice if you drop them early on in a game and then forget about them, but they're the bane of every decent player if you draw it anywhere past your second or third turn.

I still stand that this cycle should have been common and cost 1 instead of 2. Atleast then they could have been played early and often so that they had the possibility of stacking. At uncommon and 2, they are underwhelming in limited. In constructed, there are better options ofcourse, but if you are red or blue and woulnd't mind some lifegain, then I could see them in constructed decks if they atleast cost 1.

This cycle of cards is all the more disappointing with every core set printing. The flavor text was pleasant enough the first time around, but even if Wizards refuses to commission new art each year, why can't they at least write a couple lines of new flavor? Lots of us take interest in that kind of stuff.
Ah well, life's too short to mind a dull reprint here and there, and lots of 2012 cards are delightful. It's just that I got a foil Angel's Feather in the pack of M12 I just opened, and I feel a bit sad that it doesn't have anything new to make it worth adding to my 'junk foils with nice art' binder.

Though the card itself is bad, I think it is still disrespectful that they've printed it so many times with the same art. Disrespectful to the community of players and to the core sets themselves, but also to the card. Magic is something I love, and I hate putting my cards into the trash can, no matter how bad they may be. But when I have twelve copies of a card that I don't need and that no one else wants, and I need room in my boxes, I actually need to get rid of them somehow...

If they reprint this cycle in Magic 2013, they should definitely include a card named "Charm Golem" that becomes stronger for every type of charm that you control on the battlefield. Angel's Feather would give it flying, Demon Horn would give it Death Touch, Dragon's Claw would give it First Strike, Wurm's Tooth would give it Trample, and Kraken's Eye... no idea what that would do... scry? No idea what it's power or toughness would be or it's cmc, but it would be freaking hilarious to build a deck full of charms and this golem dude.

Even worse is that 3 of the 15 unlock slots on all the decks (IIRC) in the Duel of the Planeswalkers video games are devoted to the cycle and you just have to go in there and take them back out and shake your head at the jerks who couldn't come up with something that actually felt like a reward.

So if I played a card like midnight haunting would I gain just one life from this card, or 3? The card says specifically that the creatures are white so that lead me to believe i might get 3 life from this one spell. anyone?

FACT: Everyone dislikes this card, hates seeing the cycle, and is fed up overall
FACT: Wizards reads these comments, looks at ratings, and play test their cards.
FACT: Wizards makes bad and unplayable cards on purpose to get more money.
FACT: You people still feed them money, even though you are completely aware of what is going on.
Cards like this will never stop being made, stop blowing your money on this game if you dont like it.

For everyone saying this is free lifegain. It's not. It costs 2 mana and a cardslot in your deck. If you play it early, when it will be most effective, it will mostly cost you a turn as well. This card is completely useless unless you're building lifegain and making sure to profit from this, and even then, it's only mediocre at best.

Are there any cards that allow you to make copies of artifacts? That would increase the value of cards like this. I suppose, though, that even then you'd be better off using that card on another, better, artifact. Oh well.

Why do they keep printing these cards? I get that they want a few terrible cards because it makes casual players feel like they're learning something as they realize how bad they are, but was it really necessary to waste five uncommon slots on an entire cycle of cards deliberately designed to suck? They've been doing it for ages, all the way back to the original charms. Alright, we get the idea. Dump them already and at least throw in something more interesting -- something with a bit of variety rather than five nearly-identical equally-terrible cards.

Come on guys it's not that bad. If you're playing a control deck to outlast your opponent this is perfect. Add to that an Ajanis pridemate and you have a monster. . . a Cloudchaser Kestrel and you have another one, and a cradle of vitalityArchangel of Thune or searing meditation and you have a delight to behold.
