My buddy and I played this installment of Duel Decks, and this little item helped win a few games. In the grand scheme, it is pretty weak, but it at least it earns points for style. And it came with this: Hornet! :)

3 for a 1/1 flying with haste that dies at the end of the turn? Not that awesome.
3 to sling -1/-1 at something with Phyrexian Plaguelord? Much better. Still not amazing though. I would have prefered a 0/1 flying without haste for 1.
It's like a sexy, sleek, and mechanical Hornet Sting.
But with tokens at a more expensive,and less efficient rate.

Even if you're making the most of it by getting in the damage, getting something for the CitP trigger AND sacrificing the token, it's still kinda slow and weak as an engine piece.
So I think 2.5 is justified.

i say that this card is an underdog card, it has ALOT of unseen combos. i use this card along with other generators with Confusion in the Ranks excellent cards if u ask me

My cannon shoots robotic hornets. Your argument is invalid.
Seems good with Growing Ranks because you can activate with the enchantment trigger on the stack to copy the 1/1 hasty flyer, but without the drawback. Then you can populate every turn for a free hasty flyer! As mentioned, a buff like tempered steel and the like make a formidable combination.

I would say that probably the best thing about this card is that fact that IT SHOOTS BEES AT PEOPLE
I don't think Darksteel Forge would work with this. Darksteel Forge applies to artifacts, and while yes, Hornet Cannon is an artifact, the tokens it creates are simply "Hornet tokens", not "Artifact Hornet tokens". Or would the "hornet tokens" created simply be implied to be artifacts because the parent card that created them was an artifact?
