Ah, this reminds me of when I slaughtered the elves in WC3, or when I slaughtered the elves in Dragon age, or when I slaughtered the elves in LOTR conquest, good times.

good for sidedeck only unless you know you're going up against mother nature.
The flavor text is silly. Yes this is a near-automatic +1: You use one card, Slay which is -1, get rid of a green creature, usually your opponent's, so we can say that's a +1, and it draws you a card, which is another +1. 0, the default, minus one, plus two, equals a positive one, making this an automatic +1 most of the time. But in flavor, getting two minor victories in the war, even with just one strategy, doesn't kill the entire army. And knowing elf decks, you're gonna be facing down a BIIIIIG army. So how does the flavor text praise this card by saying only the numbers matter, when the elves are already likely to have that advantage as well as the other ones already mentioned? Or is this card trying to subtly poke fun at itself, maybe because somebody in R&D thought it was a poor card?
Either way, it's very good, at least against the right deck. Or with the right deck, for certain builds. 3.5/5.

Unfortunately, by the time you cast this, the Elves already won. Unless of course you have Dark Ritual or something.

It's a very good thing for the Modern metagame that narrow hate cards like this one exist. If all of a sudden everyone decided to play goodstuff decks with Tarmogoyf, Scavenging Ooze, and Deathrite Shaman, people could start maindecking cards like this one to make it so that that deck is no longer the best one.

The flavor text is awfully reminiscent of Attrition.

@Sironos: I absolutely loved being able to tell Tuvok the Elf "Your people are whiny and annoying" before clearing out their damned camp with the aid of those werewolves. Dragon Age was the only RPG that has overshadowed the Baldur's Gate series, IMO. I was a little annoyed that after taking every evil choice regarding the elves, they still got a happy ending! They should have been wiped from the face of Ferelden!

Singlehandledly keeps Tarmagoyf out of legacy

The cantrip is just gravy.
