I suppose the question is why use this when white has removal too?
@ Artscrafter I know but I think its very silly, whites previous removal, was stupid. I love pacifism and I think it should have flash and be important white removal but you understand what I think of course, path is retarded. And even though I understand Day of Judgment and its variants have been around forever I think its not white but red. Destroying everything is not white flavor.

ICEFANG13: This is for limited. Journey to Nowhere isn't in this set. Neither is Path to Exile.
Most people won't get a full playset of Condemn in limited and even less so for Day of Judgment (which is used in a different situation anyway.) This is white's stock creature removal for the set.
Edit: Ah, so you were making more of a comment about it being less than relevant in standard as opposed to a complaint that it's not good enough. Got it. Personally, I'm with you on the flavor aspect. I like the concept of white making a huge, raging creature suddenly go "I'm sorry, I just can't fight anymore." Swords to Plowshares was similarly flavorful, whereas the other exile stuff is less so.

I had a beautiful dream that Wizards fixed the color wheel by restricting O-ring, path, swords, and journey to vintage. Suddenly cards like this became, rightfully, white's answer to creatures. And Condemn rightly took its place at the top of the white removal hierarchy.
Ah well, a guy can dream, right?

It definitely has its place. There are other options out there (Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshares, Oblivion Ring, Journey to Nowhere, Wrath of God, Day of Judgement, Temporal Isolation, Arrest, Faith's Fetters, Bound in Silence, Brainwash, Cage of Hands, Cessation, Cowed by Wisdom, Crystallization, Hobble, Ice Cage, Kirtar's Desire, Prison Term, Rec umbent Bliss, Volrath's Curse, and Weight of Conscious, to name the majority I know of), and they all have their place, be it in casual play, constructed, limited, or in crazy wacky formats that players make up on their own. Pacifism can be better or worse than any of these, depending on the context and relevancy of the situation, as well as the basis and function it has in a given deck or strategy. Saying that it's better or worse than the others is a moot point; all Magic: The Gathering cards are made to be trumped by something else. Instants and sorceries can be countered, enchantments, artifacts and auras can be destroyed, bounced or exiled themselves, and creatures die to combat damage and having 0 toughness.
Ranting, but I hope you get my point. Just because Pacifism, and any card, is not useful in one strategy, doesn't mean it's not useful in any strategy.

I love the Mirage art, glad it's now a part of the main set.

Great long-term threat lockdown. Reliable in that it comepletely locks down big dumb threats, especially in decks with no enchantment removal. It also counts toward other things, like Sigil of the Empty Throne and Kithkin Rabble.

Same problem as counterspell. I can spend 8 mana on an amazing creature, and you can spend 2 mana to make it useless. Stupid.
