It's not a card you'd go out of your way to acquire, however, its also not entirely bad either. Same price, power and toughness as Durkwood Boars with a 'must attack' stipulation. Has its role as a mid-game creature to pressure your opponent with. I would be less sympathetic if it were 3RR.

Even the flavor text on this card screams "I SUCK." Because I really want my creatures to die? At least it's flavorful...

This card sucks in Magic, but is amazing as a creature in Magic Tactics. Beats the crap out of everything it meets.
Especially since only one of them was printed twice

I see that WoTC realized people dislike this card and we seem to be getting Bonebreaker Giant in M12 instead at the time of this post. Bonebreaker is, of course, basically an obsidian giant
Horrid... Compare to Earth or Fire Elementals, which also don't see play outside of limited, and this is worse. Just because something can be used in Limited doesn't justify the printing of total trash, especially now that WotC fully understands that creatures like this are unplayable.
I think WotC has a thing for horrible red creatures that cost around 5 mana - I guess they're still upset that the old Two-Headed Giant of Foryis was useful, and we're still paying for it decades later.

Ran these in a battle cry deck with Grand Melee and equipped it with butcher's cleaver and darksteel armor......and WON. So, for me its a 1.5/5 just because it gave it me a moment of epic lulz.

Filler makes you waste money on boosters if able
.5/5
also since its not above common it needs to be boring and useless
cha ching
Strictly worse than Herpes.
I would honestly prefer this to cost 4 given the nature of its drawback.
Maybe they live forever.
Which is just plain sad.
Especially since only one of them was printed twice
