This creature is really handy when trying cheat out big creatures and then doing it again! haha

Better than it seems. There are plenty of black cards that are just as powerful in the graveyard as they are in your hand. Try using this with Shambling Remains or any card that has unearth. Put rise from the grave in your deck to spring out a Zombie Prince of Thralls ASAP. Maybe discard your own Progenitus and watch him jump back into your library.

I send expensive legendaries to the gravey from my hand all the time with these little critters. Then they come back as black zombies for half their cc. I love rodents.

very useful if u wanna unearth half your graveyard on your final turn when its all or nothing.
unearth this guy, make your opponent discard a card that could potentially harm your hard fought victory, then go in ftw with all your little zombies :D
also works quite well with grixis slavedriver

I've never tried to play with madness (see what I did there?), but I've always imagined a playset of these to be an excellent start.

My Reanimator deck loves this card.

Nothing like popping out 3 of these guys late game and demolishing everyone's hand.

Not sure why the rating is so low.

I use this guy in my zombie horde deck. It's really good for it. It means that, even if you attack the zombie deck to try to reduce the amount of bad things you have to face, you will still have to face the discard. It's also pretty much uncounterable discard so even heavy control decks will lose some of their control. Another thing about it is that it discourages wrath effects. You kill all the zombies, but your whole team loses a card.

Works well against control decks. In your hellbent/aggro deck if you start to lose card advantage you simply play into that. These guys keep eating peoples hands but you were already sitting pretty on 0 cards. Considering he's a zombie, he can be used to drop Gravecrawler in the yard, and then you've met the condition to bring him back out; plus he can do this when they're both in the yard, making it even easier!

EDIT:
Augur of Skulls
This
Undying Evil
Unearth
Blood Scrivener
Fleshbag Marauder

seems like a reasonable start. You have lots of anti-kill spells, card draw, non-targeted removal, global discard, and mass discard. Maybe toss in a finisher, especially any that can nail people from the grave, and a few kill spells; and you should be good.
